  • Sailboat anchored on Lake Michigan in the evening haze. Calm waters allowed a perfect reflection.

  • A cold mist rises from the surface of Clear Lake on a cold fall morning a twilight begins to glow across the clouds and still waters of the lake.

  • This intimate, bright yet dark, static yet flowing, autumn themed image was made in Baxter State Park, Maine, USA in October 2006. I like the contrast of the flowing water beneath the still branches, the pop of color from the remaining birch leaves, and the juxtaposition of the branch atop the stream in tone and color! /

  • All is calm… all is white.

  • It was a quiet Christmas for my husband and me, the first one we’ve spent alone in our 35 years of marriage and 58 years of life. We spent the last daylight hours of our Savior’s birthday at Lake Martin, in St. Martin Parish, Louisiana, and this is the scene we viewed. I’ve named it Silent Night in the Deep South, a quiet ending to a quiet and peace-filled day.

My family and friends were enjoying a few days of skiing and I ventured out in the dark to see what I could locate to photograph. As the sky began to lighten, dead trees emerged from the mist and made the wait in sub zero temperature worthwhile. Image straight from camera with no manipulation.

This artwork was featured in The Love Of Eerie and Enchanting Artwork Long before I ever made my own artwork, I used to do a lot of looking through online galleries like digitalblasphemy.com and 5thdimensionstudios.com. The artwork I liked best contained glass orbs floating on a still surface. I always thought they were so enigmatic… ...Stock Credits… / Background / Stock copyrights remain the property of their respective owners.

  • Mersea Island, the most Easterly populated island in the UK, may not be renowned as a photogenic location, but, standing here at East Mersea, with the gently flowing seawater lapping against the tops of the wellies, with the line of posts so obligingly composed, and with the glorious colours spreading across the late afternoon sky, it was possible for a moment or two to believe that this was the most beautiful place on Earth. Canon EOS 5D and EF 16-35mm lens. Exposure of 30 seconds at f/13.

  • Three seagulls having a leisurely chat at Mornington late in the afternoon. This was the first time I had been to Mornington since I was kid. I always flashbacks of a pier down on the coast as a child and until now had never realised where it was. It looked so much smaller than I remembered it to be… Processed in Adobe Lightroom 2 and Adobe Photoshop CS. Taken with my Canon 40D and 10-22mm wide angle lens. Featured in the Piers and Jettis Group on the 28th of March 2009

  • An early morning view from river Nira near Veer dam, just an hour drive from my city, Pune After almost a weeks break, presenting this work in blue. I didn’t tried much with the original ( not even HDR ). Just few tonal adjustments in Lab color for Levels and exposure blending in PS. Equipment : Canon EOS 400D and Canon 10 – 22 mm lens.

  • What can I say … Sometimes it all does come together perfect. I absolutely love how this turned out, hope you do as well. Image made with a Nikon D200 And Tokina 12-24mm lens. Slight touch of HDR post processing applied, converted to Sepia Tones in Adobe Digital Lightroom.

  • One of those mornings when a photographers’ dream seems to fulfill itself. A few of you sure will “see” right through the title on this image. One of my alltime favorite places to photograph, the Whaleheadhunt Club in Currituck, NC. Best viewed in Large format.

  • Featured in the group Forests Oct 2009 Featured in the group Healing through Art Oct 2009 I sat watching him sitting there beneath the spruce and oak – a canopy of such density that little snow filtered thru. Winter chill creeping into my bones; I rose from my seat in the fallen leaves to run thru a series of deep knee bends, hoping to warm my blood. Upon returning to my seat, I looked in utter surprise to see that he was fast asleep. It’s a given that Park animals are far more comfortable with us that usual, but still I couldn’t help but feel a tiny bit flattered that he would trust me enough to fall asleep in my presence. I was raised in a family of hunters, you see. Though I lacked the constitution for it, I participated just the same. It made me feel closer to my father. I went contrary to my nature to get my father’s approval. I wasn’t aware of this at the time. After many years, and having put my guns away, I realized that my life as a hunter had taken a toll on me somehow. I took up a camera, instead of a gun, and without knowing this either, I went into nature to find forgiveness. I had been away from nature for over ten years, away from my childhood friend, that place that I had retreated to for solace so often growing up. I sat there watching him sleep just a stone’s toss away and something foreign crept its way into me – a feeling that if given a voice to speak would have said to me, “Hey, do you suppose that if he can trust you like this, don’t you reckon you should be able to as well?” It felt like my father putting his arm around me and telling me that nothing else mattered; it was okay to make mistakes – it’s how you learn. I realized that despite all the striving I’d never let me feel approval of me. It wasn’t easy deciding to deal with me in a completely different way. But I met something there that day in the silence of the forest that showed me how to go about it. I found it deep within. A deer friend showed me how to find it. / __ / ©Miles A Moody LivingEarth-Hearthealing.com.
