horses in the morning mist
Ok, I admit, I made it rain on the poor spider’s home. Not only did I chase it, but I flooded it’s home with water from spray bottle. I couldn’t wait for the real rain to fall, in case the spider’s web disappeared. All I’ve done to the image is brighten it up and place a slight little frame around bottom edge.

This image shows the lights remembering the Twin Towers over Manhattan on the 11th September 2007. The sombre air over the city lightens as the night descends and the beauty of the lights is exposed. The City awakes from melancholy and the streets have an electric feel as the inhabitants wander and wonder at the display.

Autumn inspired portrait.
Digging in my old store I just found a shot which all those of you might like who have become fans of my magic light shots in the forests here around Hilversum. This one was taken in September 2007 and to me is ever so suggestive: a warm dreamlike morning comes back to my mind! / Ah, to think of such mornings … ! And of such light …! Warming your heart and your soul. Not an everyday experience, certainly not, but they shall come again! A portrait version of this shot These are 300 year old beach trees and getting to the end of their natural life. When touring around Northern Ireland we were lucky enough to see a couple of photos of this place and eventually managed to find a toutrist info person that knew where they were. So with the sun low in a September sky we headed out and found possibly the most stunning bit of road I have ever been on in my life! Sony Alpha A200 18mm

As we are nearing the 8th anniversary of 9/11, I wanted to post this shot of Lower Manhattan. I am a bit ashamed to say, that I have not seen the New York City skyline with the World Trade Center Towers. I can only imagine how magnificent it must have looked. We shall never forget!

Some of you know these old guys so well by now from former visits. But I am sure you will not mind revisiting these lovely beech-trees under the very different circumstances on a September morning with really thick mist. / As I enthousiastically told somebody whom I met a bit later: mist like this makes nature a photographer´s paradise! There are few things which make me jump out of bed in the morning these days, I am afraid to say. The mist of this morning did it! And I was not sorry for it! Not at all. The forest between Hilversum and Lage Vuursche proved to be a great shooting ground again. I am sure you shall see more of it. That is one of the great difficulties in experiencing the unconscious—that one identifies with it and becomes a fool. You must not identify with the unconscious; you must keep outside, detached, and observe objectively what happens…. it is exceedingly difficult to accept such a thing, because we are so imbued with the fact that our unconscious is our own – my unconscious, his unconscious, her unconscious – and our prejudice is so strong that we have the greatest trouble disidentifying.
