Plant: Climbing or trailing perrennial, with 1-3 m long srems from spreading rootstock. Leaves: arrowhead-shaped, 5-12 cm long. Flowers: White to pink, broadly funnel-shaped, 4=7cm across, with 5 sepals enclosed by 2 heart-shaped 1-2cm bracts; flowers long -stalked, single in leaf axils. Blooms: May to september. Fruits: Cone -shaped capsules, usually hanging. Habitat: Moist often disturbed sites. Distribution: Native in temperate North America and Eurasia. Pick: Freely. I was out for a walk along a country road in Norwood Ontario Canada, when I came across these beautys growing thickly along a farm field fence.
