Photographic based digital montage – 2007 (no 2 from series of 3). Shot two seperate models & P/S combined them. I also draw in & enhanced part of the headpeice, the body, the dress, added a fringe to the face, hid the eyes, made the features more angular, blew up the lips, created cheekbones, reworked the branches, filtered wallpaper effects, extended the chandelier, added lacework/flower elements, desaturated the lot & added a sepia tone. Thank you to both models who wish to remain anonymous. Approximately 50 Photoshop layers. Just Sometimes (Song of Laughter and Forgetting) by Swervedriver – entered in Red Bubble ‘songmanip07 – Musical Photo Competition’. So many great entries. • Shot at the trainstation in Aarhus, Denmark in January – a train was leaving the station, and as I walked up along the carts, I noticed this guy sitting there. I moved a couple of carts ahead, put the viewfinder to my eye, waited for him to get in the picture – and snap.

  • Inspired by Nature
    by Paul Tupman

    US$4.56–US$121.60

Spiral staircase in the Vatican Museum. / I love spiral staircases and this is an amazing example. Definately inspired by nature, when you looked at it you coudn’t help but see the shell like forms appearing. I would love to photograph this with nobody else around, but I actually feel the people add some scale to this piece and I dont mind them being there at all. If I didnt have the Vatican Guards looking over my shoulder I would have been there all day!

  • The Bride...
    by Nicole Goggins

    US$3.42–US$91.20

To achieve the soft focus on this photo I add a guassian blur to one of the channels (can’t remember which one), changed to sepia and then added a ‘soft light’ blending layer also a little dodging and burning… v. simple! A couple more from my sisters wedding: The Groom Family fussing…

  • Breaking Through
    by Jeremy Harrington

    US$3.71–US$98.80

Okay well this morning I felt the urge to get out and finally take some new pics and the first thing that caught my eye was a bunch of dandelions that were starting to break apart.. However I didn’t feel like just taking a plain shot of a dandelion, I felt like doing something a tad more artistic, so today I have a series of three dandelion shots that I have processed in an artistic way to break free of the standard flower macro bounds.. I am open to all feedback because I will only keep shots uploaded that people think are worth being on the sight.. Thanks for having a look! This would have to be the least artistic shot of this morning, as the only real major treatment here was implementing a monochromatic filter and then a sepia filter over the top of that.. As per usual the exposure, contrast and levels were played with to bring the image to what I believed worked best.. / I liked this image as it seemed to “pop” and it looks almost as though the dandelion is lurching forward in an attempt to break free from its flowers. I think that this shot and Season’s End both really captured the moment that the dandelion begins to lose its flowers and disappear from existence.

  • Beautifully Old
    by Deborah Parkin

    US$3.42–US$91.20

The thing i love about photography is it makes you think and when i saw this tree i saw how beautiful it was and wanted to get an image of it’s roots – roots that were strong and big and displayed their age with pride – but when i saw the image, with a person next to it, i saw how small we are not just in relation to it’s size but but it’s sheer nature and that’s the beauty of photography (for me anyway).

  • The day you went away
    by Louise Cooke

    US$3.99–US$106.40

Ever felt the heavy heart of saying goodbye to someone? Train Stations, airports, bus stops…they can be places of great sadness. When I found this little station, I found myself thinking of the work of two photographers: Don an awesome photographer who loves trains! Check out his breath-taking landscapes and other great work, including this train . He’s given me so much help over the past few years – a generous soul with a great eye for photography. Paul Louis Villani also leapt into my head. He has some incredible images of trains and train stations. While I wouldn’t even attempt to immitate his style, his work gives me so much inspiration, and got me thinking about how I would like to present this scene. My fav image of his is Still standing
