Stepstones / / From a series where i look at death and different aspect of death and dying. Inspired by / Tangerine Dream – Cyclone – Madrigal Meridian and by Philip Glass – Metamorphosis (Uakti) This is a composite. First image is almost untouched and created with long exposure with a flashlight. Second layer is worked in CS. Both blended and mixed in CS. For the image on the main layer I try to keep the Photoshop-work to a minimum to not loose the ethereal energy the method some times captures. This is my way to healing and selfrealization. If my work can give something to an other human being it´s many times worth the effort. Thanks for stopping by and look into my world for a minute. ...roy
This photo was taken on the island of Boldt Castle, Alexandria Bay, NY. I took a lot of pictures around the castle and of the castle but this is my favorite. May 2007.
Location: The American River / Placerville California / Technique: Long Exposure / Workflow: Shutter 15 Sec / Aperture 18 / 70mm / ISO 50 / Cokin filters – 1 ND2, 2 ND4’s, 1 ND8 / Equip: Canon 5D OG Thought id go a bit “Old School” with no HDR, Just some Gradual filters to drag the shutter. Oh,,,,and just one extra layer to add the sun rays. My Good Friend “Edwin Escelera” helped with the title again and wrote: Hi Ben! Thank you again for the opportunity you are giving me…the moment i saw the picture….the decending caught my eyes readily…it’s the one giving life to the spring….so I thought of “The Spring of Life”... then again I thought of the creation of God when he said “Let there be Light” then there was light…....or this can be a classic picture of “The Living Waters”... or could this be the “The Hidden Spring” ?......or “The Gift of Light” to Mother Nature…....Man…it draws a lot of idea the longer you stare at the picture…
Stepstones / / From a series where i look at death and different aspect of death and dying. Inspired by Van Der Graaf Generator – Masks Thank you for looking and leaving a comment / ...roy lyrics He’s a man of the past and one of the present, / a man who hides behind a mask behind a mask; / a clown, a fool, believing it cool to be down / or that the game is all about who laughs the last. So he tells all his problems to his friends / and relations, exposes his neuroses to their view. / They accept as fact / every masochistic mumble of his act; / how could they know what was false / and what was true? Sometimes when he wakes / he feels he’s walked into a dream / but all it takes / to remind him things are what they seem / is the belief / that the man behind the mask can really dance / Pirouetting smile / he sees himself cavorting, / Pierrot for a while / before aborting / to find relief / in the shelter of the dark, most telling mask. After all the pantomimes are ended / he peels all the make-up off his face / to reveal, beneath, / the tears running all down his cheeks: / alne, he opens to the world… / but it’s much too late. / He’s been left, in the end, without a face.

A Flower… / / / A flower has power, remember the sixties, / its all about love, just ask the pixies, / a flower is strength, and beauty too, / with such pure colour, fragrance and hue, / yet stands up to all the elements, just like you, / and a flower reminds me of love, / with grace and purity, like a dove, / a flower is power, to stand alone, / or be with many and still feel at home, / it sweetens any garden, whether old or new / and everyday God waters it with the morning dew, / so remember a flower is Gods way of smiling, / of telling you everything`s fine, / to let you know you are shining, / and that everything is in line. / o / By Nik New / /
A test I did with Erica Sliverman She’s incredibly talented it was a pleasure working with her, while i don’t think this was the best in the series i still like it!
This photograph marked the beginning of an unplanned 24 hour trip to New York City. It was an opportunity to experience a place the best way…to get lost in it. / / / /
