A stone part found on the grounds of our house after partial snow-melt. It used to belong to the farmhouse before it was renovated and partly destroyed and we found rubble like this all the time in winter. I don’t know what this might have been part of or what words the letters are supposed to form. / Photographed in Schlatt, Germany.

In dark tones instead of light..

I forget things all the time! / I forget meetings and appointments. / I forget to call and to write. / I forget to check my messages and my agenda. / I forget why I go downstairs to the basement, and I forget what I am looking for on the web. / I forget my cup of coffee in the microwave and my spaghetti sauce on the stove top. / I forget my wet laundry in the washing machine, and I also forget to go pick up my son who’s waiting for me on the other side of town. / I even forget to feed the dog. / The other day, I forgot to put the car on park before getting out and it crashed into our house… No wonder that I forget to bring my camera with me when I go out!!! I will need a huge notebook to copy everything that I keep forgetting all the time. And I will also need a whole box of Tylenol to soothe the pain in my poor cramped hands. Some say that it might just be perimenopause symptoms… maybe, but my grandma died of Alzheimer’s disease 12 years ago. I can’t help but worry a bit about all this forgetfulness. This is my tribute to Muntazer al-Zaidi. The legendary journalist who threw his shoe at George W Bush during his farewell visit to Iraq. Clearly it is based on Banksy’s “Flower Chucker” stencil which is based on a photo from the 1968 riots in Paris. I’ve tried to keep it faithful to both Banksy and Muntazer by illustrating his head as close as possible to the original press conference image, in the style of “Flower Thrower”. I also illustrated the shoe to fit his hand just nicely and added a bit of definition to the fingers. Love to know what you think. Good riddance George Dubbaya. Muntazer al-Zaid may be the thrower, but you certainly are the tosser. / / / / / / /

This poem is about the problem I have communicating. / I am a naturally quiet person, however I find it even more difficult to express my self around certain people. A problem that only I can work on but none-the-less frustrating! This poem is an attempt to express that frustration.
