Can an old man still make the flute sound beautiful? Actually, I never thought of myself as looking quite this old!! Under the scrutinty of the up-close lens everything comes out. I did this for an exercise in self photography.in Las Cruces,NM. This was shot on a Canon Eos Rebel XTi at: 1/4sec.,f 7.1, iso 100, 39mm on a 28-300mm Tamron lenson a Slik Tripod. This was FEATURED in the Canon DSL Group on 7/11/09.This acheivement means a lot to me personally! This was in the TOP TEN of the On YOur Own Time Challenge in the Mood and Ambience Group on July 17, 2009 This was FEATURED in the New Mexico Group on July 20, 2009. It was in the TOP TEN in the Ones Great Black and White Portrait OF A PERSON in That One Great Shot Group on Aug. 2, 2009. This was in the TOP TEN fo the challenge Wrinkles in the Mood & Ambience – Strictly Photos Group on Oct. 24, ‘09 This was in the TOP TEN of the Challenge A Face With Character in the Tat One Great Shot Group on Nov 11,’09. This is an image I did a few years ago during a massive sinus infection… I was looking for any relief for the pain and pressure I was feeling. I remember hearing of Trepanation which they used quite a bit back in the oldtimey days, where they drill hole in your scull to let out evil spirits and stuff. In recent days this procedure is still being used to increase your consciousness…

Drew this for a self-portrait contest. This is also my first ever self-portrait, beyond a couple of exercises in art classes when I was younger. I obviously took some liberties here ;) I didn’t get some aspects of the portrait quite right (the nose and the chin are not quite right for example, and I have a much paler skin tone), but this is perhaps how I would look in another reality ;) Mixed media on heavy textured purple watercolor paper (Canson).
