A macro of a clematis flower, processed in a selenium tone.
An old scan of my Dad’s from many years ago at Avalon. HDR’d from one 600dpi scan and then I replaced the sky in Photoshop with what I thought was a more interesting one. Also like it in a Selenium Tone which is one of Lightroom’s presets so I left it as that and did a bit of touching up with the levels etc.
Hibiscus in the afternoon sun. This is an amazing flower—it only lasts a day or two.
One of my own personal favourites of my infrared collection. This is an infrared background image multiplied in the blending modes portion of the layers palette. A ‘selenium’ tone is added in the hue/saturation area. I have also added a dark purplish red sun flare and of course, the beautiful swan who is looking back at you from his watery, heavenly canyon pond ;-)
Description for the DAC group: An older infrared image of mine that I started off by just swinging the tint toward purple or selenium. I created a duplicate of it in Photoshop’s Layers Palette, and then Multiplied the copy later in the blending options. I then juxtaposed in two layers of extra clouds in the sky as seamlessly as I could. I also made an extra copy of the added sky layers and flipped that upside down and lowered the opacity, placing this on the bottom of the lake reflections to simulate the clouds reflecting in the water. I then juxtaposed in a layer of the moon, duplicated it and flipped it upside down and lowered the opacity so it could reflect in the water. After that I juxtaposed in the pretty red headed duck, as he contrasted the scene nicely, which I duplicated and used Flaming Pear’s Flood on the copy layer. I flipped the copy layer and lowered the opacity so the reflection of the duck seemed more realistic. This was a bit tricky, but came out nicely in the end!

It was an old mirror, and silvered, and very tired. It was determined to cast no more reflections.
A day time long exposure of a light house on the Dutch Coast. / B&W with a touch of selenium. Technical info: / 10 stops ND filter / Polarization Filter – 2 stops / f/22 / ISO100 / 181s (3 min) exposure / / This one’s taken at the same location: /

I converted this shot to black and white and added a bluish filter to give a spooky effect
I suggest a black frame and bright white mat for this photo. - Troy
