The UK group has quite a lot of art in it now (204 pages as of the time of writing) and it has been suggested that having so much art could work against a lot of the stuff that’s in there (a suggestion that makes sense to me). So, I got to thinking: it could be amusing to have a little tool that directs you to a random page. One line of PHP code later: The UK Group Art Random Page Selection Thingy Clicking on that link will take you to a random page. Note, however, that there’s a small problem with the above in that I need to hand-edit the max number of pages as the number of works increase. Still, for a quick one-line hack, it’s not so bad. I think.

Inspired by yesterday’s little hack I got to thinking that it might be fun to have some way of pointing people at random aspects of your profile (random page of art, random page of clothing, random page of favourites, random page of people on your watchlist being the obvious ones). To make it work, to make it so it approaches being easy to use by most people, it needed some sort of link generator. Some hacking about with PHP later and here it is: The RedBubble random pages from your profile link generator thingy I’ve tried as best as I can to document how it works and how you can use it over on the page so I won’t write any more about that here. However, if you’re stuck, or find it confusing, or just need a hand with something, feel free to ask here. To give you an idea of what it ends up doing: View a random page of my art

This is another boat we have offloaded many times, but no more! It burnt out last year, tied up at the dock, no one was hurt! Lots of history on this vessel, it has been around a long time and have been in the best and the worst shape any vessel could go through. / It started out as a yacht, owned by Barbara Hutton, the movie star. It was suppose to have had fireplaces, and some trimmings of gold on it. Some company bought it back many years ago and turned it into a fishing vessel. Then it sank in Queen Charlotte Sound off the coast of BC, Canada. It was completely submerged in the ocean for over a year. They had it refloated, cleaned it up and it fished many years after with the same engine that it sank with and from the time she was built. While I have known the boat it had been owned by two different fishing companies and has brought millions of pounds of fish to shore. The engine was that old that they couldn’t get parts for it anymore. The engine had a very distinct sound, we heard it from our house one night leaving Port Hardy Bay, but we couldn’t see it. :) This great vessel has been skippered by many great skippers on the Pacific Ocean! I have been told that it was a great vessel on the rough seas. The last I heard it was going to be taken apart piece by piece, for scarp metal! We are going to miss it, over the years it has given many hours of work, but it’s time was up! / I decided to go with the sepia filter for it, I think it looks pretty good here for what it has through. I am planning to put it on Red Bubble in color also, but I like to experiment with different filters.
