Panoramic view of Paris in the Winter taken from the top of Notre Dame cathedral.
Notre Dame Cathedral by the river La Seine in Paris, was completed in 1345. In 1430, Henri VI of England was crowned here. And in the same year Mary Stuart becomes Queen of France after her marriage to François II, and is also crowned in the cathedral. The last crowning in Notre Dame was in 1804 when Napoléon crowned himself Emperor. The banks of La Seine are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This image was HDR post-processed. Featured in: Your Magic Place – 26th April 2009. / A walk by The Seine at Rueil-Malmaison, France. (just outside Paris). There is beautiful light here always…it seems to dance on the trees and the river. This was a favourite area for the impressionist artists of the past and is still a very popular source of inspiration for many painters today. Friday, 13 March, 2009 / Below the Pont Neuf, Paris / Nikon D200 / Nikkor 55-200mm I was on the Pont Neuf enjoying the sights of Paris and saw this lady with the bright red coat walking along the Seine riverbank. Spring has not shown itself in Paris yet, so everything seems to be a washed-out grey/brown colour. Her coat really captured my eye, adding such a contrast to the scene. Other than resizing and minor sharpness issues, no colour adjustments have been made. Paris is the capital of France.
