Photo taken during a brief break in a thunderstorm in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada (August 7, 2009). The sky was completely black except for this patch of blue sky and one brilliant white cloud directly overhead. It really inspired me to see this sight.

Won the One Plus Sky challenge – November 8, 2009 Photo taken July 19, 2009 at the Kent Hills Wind Farm just outside Moncton, New Brunswick. It currently consists of 32 wind turbines. These things are huge! I climbed the stairs to the service door and looked up. This is probably my favourite shot of the day because these 2 blades look like arms embracing the wind and (hopefully) the future of better energy sustainability. One of the turbines recently caught fire, causing approximately $5 000 000 in damage.

This photo was featured in Digital Photography Placed 4th in the Remembering Summer challenge Photo taken September 12, 2009 at the Atlantic Balloon Festival in Sussex, New Brunswick. It’s the first time I’ve ever seen the balloons being inflated and take off, which has really given me a strong need to take a ride in one. Of the 11 balloons that went up, this one drifted directly above where we were parked, making for one heck of a shot! Post-processing done to remove grain, improve colour, and enhance cloud cover.

Lately I am all about letting go – of labels we place upon ourselves, of expectations, of negative thoughts and self-defeating behaviours. The effect of letting go has been tremendous for me. I feel even more at peace these days. New doors are opening up for me. Good things are coming to me so easily.
