Lil Formers is a parody comic strip created, written, drawn, inked and coloured by me, Matt Moylan. It started off poking fun at all aspects of Hasbro’s Transformers mega-property (hence the ‘Formers’ in the title). Strips #1 to 100 are all TF-centric, but now with Strip #101 onward, I’m expanding the scope of things to cover all geeky, pop culture properties. Feeding time as I arrived at Abbotsbury Dorset- so assume this is the self appointed leader of the gang- ‘here it comes guys’ – eight minutes late- and did they let us know it- never heard swans growl before!! In defence now- this was using the new camera outside for the first time in the brightest of sunshine so I couldn’t see the screen or the dials – so already blaming my tools as any good tradesman!! I was walking past the TV last night and a Nazi documentary was on. This photo of Hitler kept flashing up on screen as they described the things he did to Europe during this reign. I got my camera and took a few photos of it. There was something that stirred in me after doing it. I have always been mortified by his actions and the apparent reasoning behind. Studying it in high school was both interesting and horrifying at the same time. This piece is not meant to offend in any way. It is not intended to make fun of the awful things that many victims of War – especially WWII – have been through. This is rather, my own way of rationalising how one man could cause devastation on such a huge scale. I’ll never understand anything that happened during this era. Even after visiting the areas effected, it’s still something that is impossible to comprehend. Slight cropping, colour, contrast and brightness tweak and text box added.
