  • The kiwifruit originated in China. The fruit has a soft texture and a unique flavour. / Originally known as the Chinese Gooseberry, the fruit was renamed for marketing reasons in the mid-20th century, first to melonette, and then to kiwifruit. The latter name was chosen for the indigenous New Zealand bird, kiwi, which is one of the country’s national symbols. The second renaming was done in order to avoid a tariff on imported melons. • The Land of The Seed (L.o.T.S.) is a contemporary “Dreaming story” I wrote some years ago, and have “sat on” since then. / A few years ago, my artist friend Rose - originally from Sth Africa - agreed to do a series of charcoal-pencil sketches to compliment the written work. None have been shown in public, yet. / The images in the yellow circle (woman and man) are compiled from 2 of the 6 images done for the written work. / The overall design is based on the Aboriginal Flag hence the colours used. / So, here is one of my contributions towards “Reconciliation”, perhaps … a start of the Tjukurritja Tjukurrpa (sacred story) Land of The Seed … “Welcome to Country. My country, our Land of The Seed.”

  • More trees :-)

  • The paisley design originally came from simplified drawings of flowering plants. It is also believed to be the shape of a mango seed. / It is a beautiful organic design that I have loved for years. / My design was originally from a painting, showing the paisley designs origins in nature, that I did a few years ago. / In making it into a drawing for this t-shirt design I have attempted about 20 totally different designs and have been getting very frustrated with trying to resolve it. / Hope you like it , would love some feedback. / / I have decided to ditch the background altogether.
