Well, I’m not a big flag waver, but I do have a lot of respect for my country. We have our problems just like everybody else, but we do stand for freedom. Freedom to express ourselves without worrying about reprisals. Which it what I’m doing here. I know a lot of you are not from the US and that’s fine. A lot of your ancestors migrated here over the past 200 years or so and that’s what makes this a great country – the diversity. I salute our soldiers who are defending freedom, as well as our allies who partner with them. May the Lord keep them from harm’s way. And may He continue to bless this great country – the USA. This is an image of Courthouse Rock in Sedona Arizona. I took the image of the flag on a recent trip to California. Using a Photoshop technique called Displacement Mapping I branded the US flag to the rock. Hope you like! Add me to your watch list now / My Bubblesite

SEDONA AZ

Monsoon just minutes after passing by and heading up into Oak Creek Canyon! This storm was producing marble size hail with strong wind and rain. It was very dark and I thought the storm would not let up until after dark. I was surprised by how fast the storm passed & just as the sun was setting. I did have my camera out trying to capture lightning but visibility was horrible so I put the camera/tripod away. I was totally taken off guard by this beautiful sight from my balcony and was unable to set the camera back up in time to capture the rainbow at its brightest! However, I’m very pleased with this shot!

The beautiful Red Rocks of Sedona, Arizona at sunset beneath a stormy sky.

Pure white clouds dot a pattern across a deep blue sky while the harsh, dry arizona landscape is whizzing by the few cars on the road. Ever notice how cars tend to clump together in little herds on highways instead of all spreading out? It’s a herd instinct because nobody wants to be left in the middle, alone and vulnerable to being picked out by cops, right? The clouds are also a type of “wandering herd.” / . / June 2007, Sedona, AZ

Sedona Arizona taken last summer. The surreal red rocks of Sedona AZ are well known for their beauty and also as New Age “vortex sites”. Vortexes are considered by some to be unusual power points in the earth where energy flows freely, affecting living things with their vibrations. The twisted trunks of the trees in this area are thought (again by some) to be caused by this energy.

The view from here..or there. It didn’t really seem to matter. Life in the desert (plus it was a holiday) imposes it’s own sense of peace and tranquility. However, some nights it was early-ish to bed thus I would wake up before dawn and watch it evolve and radiate it’s own magic. (a rare experience for a night shift worker) Dream on. !!
