How many can you see?
To All My Guides, Who Work To Inspire Me Catharine Crowe once said.. / A great many things have been pronounced untrue and absurd, and even impossible, by the highest authorities in the age in which they lived, which have afterwards, within a very short period, been found to be both possible and true. / Painting with acrylics, pigment and gold leaf. Painted in January 2007
i had forgotten that i had already scanned this drawing! glad i found it. this is a pencil drawing of victoria’s secret model, adriana lima. i believe that this is a very old picture of her, she looks very young here. / 11×14in smooth bristol paper. i don’t like the way scanned pencil drawings look – seems like they lose the darks… detail /
I forget the exact location but I spotted this dwelling on my travels in Scotland. It seemed as though it was only in need of a bit of TLC so I asked a couple of locals if it used to be an Inn or parish building. The reply was, “no, just a house”, and then they locals turned and left without another word…..............Almost as if there was some mystery surrounding it that they didn’t want to talk about…...........hence the title Unloved Canon 350D 18-55 IS Tonemapped
Doesn’t this pair of bees look like they are having a great time on this water lily? How I envy them! :D(Best viewed when large) / /
I was fortunate to be able to get several great photos of gorillas at my last trip to the zoo. This one was only a few feet away from me, just sitting, thinking. With a slight grin on his face, I have to wonder what his secret is. This is a lowland gorilla, and like all the great apes, is an endangered species. Drawn in charcoal on bristol vellum, 2008. Original 13”x17” available.

The internet is a strange place, for many, like myself, it becomes a safe place, a place of refuge, warmth and protection, the life we reveal to others is portrayed on snapshots, tiny colourful glimpses of the entire picture, cryptic messages carved on the damp. cavernous walls of poems, stories and prose. Away from the internet we live, breathe, fuck, fight, earn a living, pay off debts, owe and feel obligated to people, in general we complicate our lives, more often than not, taking the easy road simply to please other people, keeping the peace to avoid conflict and confrontation. Life itself becomes a metaphor for codependency and we let others who depend on us suck the life force out of us. In taking care of others we lose ownership of ourselves… Our identities fall into the messed up, murky mosh-pit of everyday living. Some people have precious memories to look back on, images in the back of their minds that bring a smile to their faces causing them to sigh and shake their heads from side to side… Other people recall only painful nightmares and the memories that make them smile are far and few between. I think it’s important to remember that today’s experiences will one day become tomorrow’s memories, they’ll become the movies and photographs we replay in our minds over and over again… We can only change and shape those images by adding newer, happier ones to the album, and that can only be achieved in the present, by the things we do today. Wouldn’t it be great if we could put our memories through photoshop, edit, soften and enhance them? Ah shit, I’m just rambling, I haven’t written fuck all in a while and this is the only way I can get my mind back into gear… Creating letters and words out of my thoughts, that are unfortunately, due to a cocktail of mood stabilising chemicals, pretty limited. Sometimes I have to shut everything off, hold everything back, breathe everything in and close everything down in order to open myself up and let it all out. On those days it can seem like I’m non-existent… But I’m still here, just behind your computer screens, feeling and thinking, but saying nothing. We all have our secrets I guess…

Underground cities are nothing new to our world. They have been around as a form of protection since Bronze Age. They were settlements in the Byzantine period, to protect the citizens from increasing invasions. Thelocal residents built underground cities for protection and religious purposes. In Turkey, the Cappadocia area has many underground cities founded within. There are about 40 underground cities. Can you imagine the secrecy that had to take place during and after the building of the cities to prevent invaders from knowing they were there? It astounds me, every time I think of it. :o) Created in Fractal Explorer. Featured in: / Unconventional Artistry July 2009 / Globes, Spheres and Curves July 2009 / A Fractal Energy Passion July 2009
