During Spring for a few weeks you get this really intense green weed hitting the Sydney coast line…. I loved the contrast and textures of the green weed against the blur of a long exposure (30sec +) of the ocean and a nice dramatic sky.

I was spoiled for seascapes last week….as I am sure you will discover….tee hee! And yes Stuart…this is where I phoned you from. This was taken on the Plage De Pleuren in Brittany, France. Shot in RAW…some noise reduction and a tweak of the levels and thats it….....I have a number of shots from this area. I could have stayed in that part of Brittany for 6 months and photographed a different rocky cove every night…spoiled for choice!

Jambiani on the east coast of Zanzibar, Tanzania. Villagers work as a collective harvesting seaweed for the Japanese restaurant market. Although it looks idyllic, they spend up to 8 hours a day in the sea water harvesting and then transferring the sea weed in 50 kg bags to the shore for drying. A 50 kg bag is worth about US$10.

The ship of fools is an allegory that has long been a fixture in Western literature and art. The allegory depicts a vessel populated by human inhabitants who are deranged, frivolous or oblivious passengers aboard a ship without a pilot, and seemingly ignorant of their own direction :D

I shot this photo earlier this year down at Cape Schanck on the Mornington Peninsula (Victoria). It’s part of a new personal project I’m working on. It was one of those mornings where everything just came together nicely. Of all the photos I’ve ever shot, this is one of my favourites.
