What a welcome sight, S P R I N G I S H E R E ! ! ! / Tulip time at the Market is my favorite time of year in Seattle. I never buy them because I always have to fly the next day…..and they don’t last as people drag them through the airport. But maybe next time I always say, maybe next time I will take the chance that they will make the long journey home so they can sit on my window sill and make me smile. Until then a photo will have to do.
The Seattle Market is so wonderful in itself, but the views of the water are breath taking. I took this shot through a window down one of the cool wings that extend out from the main building. It is COLD in there and it’s hard to linger…..but I was glad I did just long enough to see the dancing sunlight on the cool crisp water.
A shot from West Seattle accross Elliott Bay, of downtown Seattle skyline…added a graduate filter in CS3 from Nik Color Efexs 3.0, to live’n it up! Cormorant and pilings were the main attraction the day I shoot this… enjoy! / Sony a100 / ~ Seattle, Washington USA
Kurt Donald Cobain (February 20, 1967 – c. April 5, 1994) was an American musician who served as lead singer, guitarist, and songwriter for the band Nirvana. RIP Enjoy. Brother Adam Youtube Video .
This view from a walkway behind the Seattle Market might have seemed bland. But I knew it had potential. Cement really has a lot of blue in it…...so I brought that out and enhanced the textures just a bit. And again….to sell the abstract…..I decided to give it a turn. /
This piece of driftwood, sporting kelp and other ocean debris, was processed in the HDR format for greater warmth and color. 3 exposures (-1, 0, +1) were used with a tripod-mounted Nikon D300 and Sigma 10-20mm lens set to 20mm. Aperture is f/6.3. Created in Photomatix, with sharpness and levels in Photoshop CS4. Want to find this driftwood yourself? Go to Seacrest Park in West Seattle and make sure there’s plenty of sunrise left!
