These Chunkies have been very therapeutic to create over the holidays, whilst taking a break from red bubble and having my family around. I have many more to come, and although I won’t be on RB as much, I hope to also be doing some serious painting this year…so i look forward 2009 with much anticipation …
This design reminds me of a colorful starfish. I created this work with two different Apophysis fractal designs and used Photoshop to get this endresult. Designer: Thea Walstra / /
A macro image of a Firebrick Seastar that has been “Painted” / This shot was taken at Jervis Bay on the South Coast of New South Wales Australia.
Stumbled across a huge group of Sea Stars today whilst out for my walk….So excited to have seen this….they are usually in smalll groups with 3 or less…that I have seen anyway…
This Seastar (Uniophora Granifera) is commonly seen on sheltered rocks and reefs around south eastern Australia, and can vary in color from one individual to the next. This one was taken on Port Noarlunga reef, Adelaide, in about 5m of water. The Port Noarlunga reef is an Aquatic Reserve, and is very protected and accessible dive from the jetty. Organizations such as ReefWatch monitor the affects of the visitors to the reef on the marine life that inhabits it. Browse By Category / Underwater / Panoramas / Adelaide and South Australia
Orange starfish [sea star] with anemones and barnacles, Oregon coast Anemones form mosaics with tiny chips of colored rocks
Ochre sea stars and giant green anemones cling to a rock during low tide on the beach in Port Orford, Oregon, USA. These anemones are closed when not submerged, and can be found on rocks and many other surfaces along tide lines from Alaska to Panama. They reach a diameter of 10 inches (10 cm). The ochre sea stars are common on rocky shores, at or above tideline, from Alaska to Baja. They can be yellow, orange, brown, reddish, or purple.
