  • Filling up a glass of water and noticed this out of the kitchen window. Literally ran outside with a t-shirt and slippers on to get this before it went. First few shots were a golden amber in color then it went to this before it disappeared. Only snapped about 30 bracketed shots before it was gone. Gonna go a repot my orchid while this is uploading (and I finished it, thanks dial-up). Hope you like it. Please critique… print available here and on my website. • Merry Christmas to all our RedBubble Friends! Adobe PS3 lights.

  • A New Years Sunrise While not a sunrise in the traditional sense of the word, but it sure seemed to be with the sun hiding behind the clouds, back lighting and glowing everything around me in a colorful haze in Moraine Park inside Rocky Mountain National Park. It was nothing but stunning! Quite the way to start and kick off the New Years I think! Processed in Photomatix HDR with 3 RAW files, then output through PSP 10, , shot on my 5D and Minolta 18-200 DT using a Singh-Ray CPL, and then hiding behind the car to shield myself from 80 MPH wind gusts lol The crazy thing is, the haze in the background, is actually from the snow that was falling and whipping around. Hope ya all like it! / —-John

  • HDR Winter Sunset. Jan. 2009. German Ridge Road, Wayne, WV. This is my first HDR. Photomatix Pro 3.0. / FEATURED IN YOUR MAGIC PLACE JAN. 13, 2009 /

  • The Legacy Wild bird habitat Utah USA opened to much contraversy late last year. Apparently, to open this reserve they had to go through Wild bird habitat and some farmland. However, after much debate and ecological research it was open. So far the birds have thrived and some land owners are still not impressed. This photo was taken in one of those magical sunset moments over the lake. Photo taken by Canon IXUS

  • A photograph of a tree sillhouette, taken in Autumn 08. Added lighting and colours created in photoshop CS2.

  • Well this shot did really well over on deviantART so I thought that I would also share with you all here too. (I honestly wasn’t expecting the 1600 odd favorites it received over there, took me by surprise!) Storm clouds fight with the evening sunset over the Colorado Rockies & Longs Peak. Every now and then I like to get a little artistic with my HDR’s and this is one of those, there is no right, no wrongs when it comes to photography and artistic interpretation, and i realize that not everyone likes that, nor this style, that is fine, I respect that, but I also ask the same of you to respect my creativeness, too! Now that being said, hope ya all dig it! / John See more on my website at www.jdebordphoto.com Minolta MAXXUM 5D / Shutter Speed: 1/25 second / F Number: F/9.0 / Focal Length: 80 mm / ISO Speed: 200

  • Autumn in Vermont bursts forth in breathtaking hues. The Green Mountains turn briefly into a fire-like blaze of oranges, reds, yellows. As quickly as the colors burst; they fade … and the seasons twist again. Featured in All Things Orange Artwork Gallery: October 12, 2009 Canon 400D/Sigma Lens

  • Rural northern Boulder County, Colorado Honest to God above, this was utterly amazing….I can’t really find the wards to describe the whole scene to you all but I will try my best. I had to handhold this, along with the other shots to come, my knee is totally kaput so using a tripod was pretty much out of the question, however that isn’t the only reason…as we were shooting last evening, the lightning was all over the place, and well there were times when I wanted to grab it and try, but thought better of it lol Tripods make for great Lightning conductors! lol The clouds were just insane, and I mean really crazy, this storm went severe dropping reports of funnel clouds to the north east of us and hail as well. It passed over our heads, but sure made for some utterly incredible atmospheric shots! So you take that, a Sunflower field the size of a small state, the sunset, a country road, and the foothills and mountains as a backdrop, and friends, you have quite a scene you will NEVER forget! Hope ya all like it! / —-John Minolta 5D / Minolta 18-70mm / CPL & ND4
