Ducks In The Woods /
This is the spring counterpart to my other Barred owl called Winter’s watchman Taken in the same general area in April 2005. You can tell he was just in the swampy water below, either bathing or chasing after a snake to eat, by the wetness present on his feathers.
My backyard pond, frozen solid. This pond is home to nutria, beavers, ducks, herons, and other water loving birds.
The inside is supposed to read “Sure hope so!” but since we can’t add text to the inside you’ll have to do that part yourself. :P
“You looking at me?” Makes for a great and comical Christmas card – a robin with a definite personality!
Sanctuary – Middle English, from Old French sainctuarie, from Late Latin s?nctu?rium, from Latin s?nctus, sacred, sanctify. Sacred place, especially the most sacred part of a sacred place. In ancient times and in the Middle Ages, a sanctuary served as asylum, a place of refuge for persons fleeing from violence or from the penalties of the law. To injure a person in sanctuary or to remove him from it forcibly was considered sacrilege. In Egypt the temples of Osiris and Amon offered the right of sanctuary. Under the Greeks all temples enjoyed this privilege, and certain ones, like the Temple of Apollo at Delphi, were known throughout the Mediterranean world as a haven for fugitives. In Rome fugitive slaves often sought sanctuary. Christian churches were given the right of sanctuary by Constantine I. Abuses of sanctuary, tending to encourage crime, led to its curtailment and abolition. Modern penal codes no longer recognize the right of sanctuary.

Taken with my Canon EOS Rebel XT during the fall hunting season. I love the wildlife in Idaho. Using a 18-55 lens, all with focal length out all the way. When I first viewed the picture I was disappointed wanted it closer, but it began to grow on me just as it was. The fall colors just popped! I had it printed and it was just amazing. The print sold right away. MUST SEE LARGER TO APPRECIATE.
A group of cold pigeons on a snowy day in the city of Toronto Canada sitting together on a wire fence trying to keep warm. There are too many pigeons in the City.
I’ve been looking for some Amanita muscaria without success but I thought I might just put up a few other “guys” I found while looking. These tiny guys were growing out of a recently fallen old stag (dead tree). Not colourful but cute just the same. I always wanted a “classic” kind of Elk shot, where one can see the steam coming out of their nose and mouth after the Bugle, with snow falling and such, and I think I finally was able to get it ! He gave us a lot of good shots, I will say that! Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado Minolta 5D & Tamron 200-400mm lens
This is a mixed media collage’ piece I did a few months ago. I uploaded the original one today in my watercolor and ink portfolio. Then this evening I started playing around with the work in GIMP and this is the result. It is simply an digitally inverted version of the original and I really like it! I entitled it “Inverted Seasons” because the original is entitled, “Frosted Windows”. The inverted version looks more spring like through the “windows”, thus the title. The seasons, as well as the art work are inverted. I think the 2 versions would look great printed and hung together! The original version was featured by Red Bubble on the home page features!
