These are some pictures of the sights of the South Island of New Zealand. This is a place of much beauty and variety. I could return to here on many a holiday!
This is a collection of paintings by Alan Hogan in which he attempts to uplift the visual senses of the viewer by using bright and vibrant colours with regular everyday images. Thus enhancing the viewers appreciation for the simple things in life, whether it be a tree, a sunset or just a ordinary house cat. This retrospective of a 9 day journey through the central South Island of New Zealand explores her natural beauty and rugged wonder. A land of raging rivers, dramatic coastlines and haunting mountains is collected here in a subliminal visual journey. Early mornings, tired eyes, warm clothes, soggy sandwiches, muddy boots, tired legs and a hunched back all contributed to this traveller’s body of work. Thank you to the land of the long white cloud. Greg Sorenson – an intrepid traveller with a child-like sense of wonder and curiosity about the natural landscape. Greg’s vision marries the subliminal context of the natural world around him with the impact of the human footprint on our world. Greg’s unique vision brings to the fore a sense of immediacy to capture these fast disappearing corners of the world that are so far relatively unscathed by human impact. Greg hopes that this visual journey will be the first of many explorations into the unique and sublime environment that is New Zealand.
This calendar brings together a selection of images from Emma Sterling’s and my international touring travelogue from 2006-2008.
