Leopard Seal (Hydrurga leptonyx)
This is too precious. She was completely captivated by the seals dancing in front of her.

This is the famous Seal cave in Oregon. They have a view point where the view is obscured by a cage. There is a small ledge of cement where you can sit a camera down and take a time exposure or at least try to hold your camera still. The view is though a small window in the cage for the camera. Those are seals on the rocks. The light was nice and my luck was good.

While shooting here at Shelley’s Point, Jervis Bay, NSW a little seal was happily jumping around in the water below, he was just too quick for me to capture on camera, even looking at me once or twice as if daring me! Standing guard over its lean summertime meal of one unfortunate seal, this polar bear awaits the coming of the ice, a time of plenty for the bear. This was a very lucky encounter to have with a polar bear. Spotting the bear from a zodiac watercraft, our group was able to watch the bear safely from a very close distance as it consumed what was left of its seal meal. Most of the polar bear I saw in the area around Baffin Island were very skittish, apparently because the bear are hunted by native people in this area. Button Islands (just south of Baffin Island), Nunavut, Canada. July 24, 2006. Canon 10D, Tamron 28-75mm lens, shutter 1/1000, f/9.5, exposure bias -0.50, focal length 75mm, ISO 200.

Seal Rock State Wayside has large off-shore rock formations which are the habitat of seals, sea lions, sea birds and other marine life. The wayside includes interesting tidepools as well as excellent ocean views and a sandy beach. Developed for day-use, the picnic area is in a pleasant stand of shore pine, spruce and salal.
