Even the humble seagull can be amazing when you see it soaring through the sky. A reminder of what they would have been like before people started feeding them their left over fish and chips…( ; Taken on a recent trip to Hyams Beach, south of Sydney. Nikon D90 with 18 – 200VR lens, no cropping, with some small adjustments in PP.

A pure, clean, perfect Seagull walking along Hyams Beach in the late afternoon sun. There is something so crisp and fresh about nature at times that somehow reminds me of how clagged up and messy us humans can get. We have so much we can learn from the wild. Nikon D90 and 18 – 200 lens shot using vivid settings to highlight the reds.

This Laughing Gull was in hover mode when I got this shot at Panama City Beach, Florida. They often learn quickly who has food to give away and will often hover over you while awaiting a food missile to be fired their way. They are great catchers of food too. To me these have beautiful markings.

An adorable little Merganser Duck flees for his life with his freshly caught fish as a determined Gull chases him for his lunch. The Merganser Duck was so thrilled over his fishing skills and the Gull was equally thrilled that he didn’t have to fish at all. He just has to take the fish away from the Merganser and continue on his merry way. :) Photography by Val Brackenridge
