for somebody
Two seagull feathers, each of equal importance.
we were out for a walk on the quayside in Newcastle and the gulls were going crazy, managed to get this one catching a piece of bread and even managed to get half the tyne bridge in !!!! lucky or what :-)
The wind was blowing so hard as the storm approached. My wife was feeding the seagulls and they were just hovering over us. Made for some really neat shots with the Great Salt Lake and the storm in the background.

Three seagulls in flight – composite image
Seagull sitting on top of a fountain in Torquay, Devon. / It looks like he is trying to squirt everyone with water by sitting on the top of it. / Had my Sigma 70-300 on for this shot, on full zoom. / Single shot, converted into a 9 shot HDR using Dynamic Photo Hdr, and tweaked a little in CS3. Hope you like it. / Thanks for looking. Pentax K110D. / Sigma 70-300 DG Macro.

extreme sunset reflections
© Simone Byrne Photography, 2009. All Rights Reserved. 3rd April, 2009 Point Richards jetty on the Bellarine Peninsula. I am really surprised that this image actually worked due to the extreme wind gusts that blew up just on sunset. I had to shield the tripod with my body to take this to make sure my camera wasn’t blown over. I like this image for its contrast of the impending storm above the jetty and the purity of the water below, kind of reminds me of life. I’d sooner stay below, but sometimes you have to stick your head up to see what’s coming! The white water was achieved by stacking my Cokins to give me a 5 stop ND Grad, only photoshopping here is a slight bump in contrast and saturation with curves. Point Richards, Victoria, Australia Camera: Canon EOS 350D Lens: Canon 18-55mm @ focal length 18mm Exposure: 15 sec, f16, ISO 100 Filters: Hoya UV, Cokin 121S/121M ND Grads Processing: Adobe Photoshop CS More Images @ SimoneByrne.com.au Thanks for looking, all comments greatly appreciated, Simone.

BW drawing of young girl 14 looking out at the water and seagulls / Graphite on Cocquille cold press paper …I use Coquille because that is the paper I usually use for my work ..It has a stiple surface so no surprises ..it gives me the soft look I want in my work…graphite from 2H to 9B apply my led in layers from light to dark.22”X30” / I got my education in capturing the movement of water with this piece…easier said than done..It is the first beach piece I’ve done and seagulls / The young girl in this drawing is my daughter Tanya …she has been my model quite a few times…This is one piece I wish I had never sold.
I know that in an artistic sense this is quite simple, however to me it has great meaning. The image is of my two boys who are also the best of friends. They have an unbreakable bond and here, they are doing something they love; just being together.
Loved this boat sitting so calm on the Noosa River, as I was sitting there waiting for the sunset colours to intensify, this seagull started feeding off bait fish on the surface.. Bit of a shame he wasn’t facing me, but still happy :) Noosa River, Noosaville, Queensland. Canon 50D, 14mm. Available large, and definately best viewed large!
Something coming through
Caught this back in Summer – February. Bonbeach is one of the nicest beaches on Port Phillip Bay, although I am a little biased. Being particular fair skinned, this is definately the best time to go for a swim.
