  • Watercolour on paper. I’ve scanned this at twice the size and 600dpi so it will have great prints. This is one of my very favourite watercolours and it sold quickly. I knew I’d miss this one which is why I did such a hi res scan.

  • This is one of my favorite doodles – a cute little sea dragon.

  • This little fellow was swimming under Portsea Pier in Victoria. He was kind enough to let me take photos from just 10 centimeters away which is very unusual for a seadragon. In the end it was me who swam off.

  • Doodle in pen

  • A male Weedy Seadragon, Phyllopteryx taeniolatus, carrying a batch of eggs on his tail, Jervis Bay Marine Park, Australia. This superbly camouflaged fish usually occurs in kelp-covered rocky reefs at depths from about 3 m to 50 m. It feeds on mysids and other small crustaceans. This species is only found in temperate Australian marine waters.

  • Leafy Seadragon at Edithburg, South Australia

  • Like its cousin the Leafy Sea Dragon, the Weedy Sea Dragon is endemic to Australia. This individual is a large female, found about ten metres underwater at Botany Bay, Sydney.

  • Small Leafy Sea Dragon near Wool Bay Jetty. While the dragons can be found at a number of sites around SA, Wool Bay is probably the most reliable. They blend in very well to the weed that they live in, but once you find one, usually you spot them everywhere! Browse By Category / Underwater / Panoramas / Adelaide and South Australia Calendar

  • Weedy Seadragon’s ((Phyllopteryx taeniolatus) and Leafy Seadragons (Phycodurus eques) are a favourite of most Underwater Photographers (hence the title). Weedy’s are found along the coast of most of Southern Australia and the Leafy’s are found in the cool waters off the states of South Australia and Western Australia. Both dragons are members of the Syngnathidae family which includes Seahorses, pipefish and more. This shot features in this calendar

  • In the winter of 2008 a buddy and I drove to Yorkes Peninsula, South Australia to see and photograph the iconic Leafy Seadragons,Phycodurus eques in the wild for our first time. These enigmatic beauties are masters of disguise and blend in so well with the algae that they live amongst. This was one of my very first shots of the first one that I found and it made the 2500km round trip well worth it!

  • A variety of underwater images from the Botany Bay and Port Jackson area’s of Sydney, Australia.
