When I was a young child / I once swam naked in the sea
What’s this about? Who knows. It seems to be a standard ‘traveller tale’. I did once swim with my children amongst jelly-fish at Gairloch in Western Scotland, not naked though! That probably gave me the idea. / i have just noticed how many of my poems involve animals. I wonder why!

My response to the senseless slaughter of innocent ‘intelligant’ creatures .Whales are special as are all living things on our precious world.Its amazing to think they once walked this land only to go back to the sea…I wonder how different our world would be if they were the dominant species.

I rarely post my writing, but wanted to share this. I had already posted it alongside my artwork of the same titled, but figured it needed it’s own entry. This was written at ArtFest 2009 – in Port Townsend, Washington while in a class instructed by Susan Wooldridge , author of PoemCrazy and Fool’s Gold.
