This shot was taken on an overcast and rainy day at Flynn’s Beach in Port Macquarie.. I had to take a shot as the colour of the water was a very nice blue-green.. I was also happy with the way I captured the wave crashing on the rocks offshore.
I couldn’t resist adding the flamingos to this sunrise taken at Cornwall, UK. Photography and editing by Jennifer Woodward © 2008

© Simone Byrne Photography, 2008. All Rights Reserved. 14th December, 2008 One of three old broken down piers at Clifton Springs on the Bellarine Peninsula. This is probably the least photographed of the three, well that I’ve seen anyway, but I rather like its narrow structure. I have always loved minimalist waterscapes and until now, without the aid of my trusty NDX400 filter, haven’t had a great deal of success, so this was my first real play with the new filter and I’m pretty happy with the result. The title kind of reflects where my life is heading at present (bad, BAD week!). I like this one the best of the three as I think it has more character, the pelicans seem to agree. No sunset at all, but some lovely light and cloud made up for it. This is for Mike, one of the weather guys on the Cocos Islands. Everyday we would ask him what the forecast was, and everyday he would reply “Mostly fine, chance of a shower”! I guess this was the “chance of a shower” bit! Mike is a great guy with lots of wonderful stories from his time spent living all around Australia. My Long Tail boat..on another island around the fabulous South of Thailand :)) Image description speaks for itself.. One day…I ‘ll go back … Thankyou to Catherine Veal for describing this image as wonderfully as this :- Shangri-La is a fictional place described in the 1933 novel Lost Horizon by British author James Hilton. In the book, “Shangri-La” is a mystical, harmonious valley, gently guided from a lamasery, enclosed in the western end of the Kunlun Mountains. Shangri-La has become synonymous with any earthly paradise but particularly a mythical Himalayan utopia—a permanently happy land, isolated from the outside world. In the novel Lost Horizon, the people who live at Shangri-La are almost immortal, living years beyond the normal lifespan. The word also evokes the imagery of exoticism of the Orient.*

In the warm summer night, I watched this amazing dry storm cell pass over me from the West. It looked like it was going to cross right over top of me – so I made an escape plan (run like hell!) But in the end, it turned north and head away from me – not before I captured this.
