Last Sunday I wend down to Sculpture By The Sea at Bondi Beach. The sky was amazing. It rained all the way down in the car (at 5am) then stopped as I parked. The clouds threatened rain for the 90 min I was taking photos, but then just as I was getting ready to go, a window opened up in the clouds and beautiful golden light streamed over the sculptures. The dark threatening clouds made the perfect backdrop. This image is a 3 shot HDR image. I printed this image up and it looks great in my hall… It has become one of my favorites.

This shot was taken on the streets of Paris (yes a lot of my images are from my trip, I just saw too many beautiful things not to share). In this shot the Cherub seems to be alone or lost, and the falling drops from the fountain above I thought were like Angel Tears, tears for the little one they couldn’t find.

ABOUT MY EXHIBITION The woks exhibited represent the linkup of two artists, a photographer and a sculptor. Such an attempt to blend two spheres of art is really innovative and a bit unexpected. There had been few who were successful in such an attempt. Both authors, blending their art by the means of the photo art, are the winners. Sculpture, as such, is rather a static art, sometimes “performing” in a specific, sometimes artificial, environment. However, the means of the plastic photography, seemingly, make the sculptures movable, dynamic; they make you feel the sculptures are moving. They become alive, start moving and react both to the environment and the views captured by the photographer. I would like the viewers also note the colour solutions of the photos, aimed at the strengthening of the overall impression of the imagery. The original blend and overlapping of two arts let see the impressive plastic metaphors, giving birth to various associations. / / /

[Taken in Natural light] [As is] Inspired by the plight of extreme poor and sick children in rural and remote villages in Africa, I have dedicated my Life to helping as many as I can. “Together we can and are making a real difference”. Taken in Tunga/Zuga Village, deep in Kebbe state, Nigeria. Carla Is HIV positive. Since this Photo was taken in December 2007, Carla has improved, with our help. Sadly her mother died in February 2008. Now her Aunt cares for her.Many Children face hardship and in some cases are isolated from care and love within their community. October 2009 / Shot at Sunrise at Crosby beach at Merseyside on a day out shooting with fellow bubbler pal Steve Smith / Another Place is a piece of modern sculpture by Antony Gormley. / Now permanently erected on Crosby Beach, England, it was due to be moved to New York, United States in November 2006, but there was a controversial proposal to retain the work at Crosby. It was recently stated in the local paper, the Crosby Herald, that they may stay for a decade, but at a meeting on 7 March 2007, Sefton Council accepted proposals that would allow the sculptures to be kept permanently at Crosby Beach. / The sculpture consists of 100 cast iron figures which face out to sea, spread over a 2 mile (3.2 km) stretch of the beach. Each figure is 189 cm tall (nearly 6 feet 2½ inches) and weighs around 650 kg (over 1400 lb). / In common with most of Gormley’s work, the figures are cast replicas of the artist’s own body. As the tides ebb and flow, the figures are revealed and submerged by the sea. The figures were cast by Joseph and Jesse Siddons Foundry in West Bromwich. / Another Place was first exhibited on the beach of Cuxhaven, Germany in 1997 and after that in Stavanger in Norway and De Panne in Belgium. / 5 shot HDR tonemapped image. / shot with a Nikon D300 and 18-70 mm lens. /

[Taken in Natural Light]. Taken on the banks of the river Nile, remote Nigeria. I got into conversation with this Muslim girl and I felt s deep compassion for her, as she said She sells peanuts to get money to help her Grandfather who cares for her and her brother and two sisters. Her mother is dead and when she died the father just left and never returned. She told me that she only sold three packets that day and she was selling from around 10 am to 7pm. She did not make enough even to buy basic foods. She spoke good English so I knew she had had some education. I and my fellow mission workers bought what she had left. Then I asked her If I could pray for her. She said yes. I asked God to open her heard adn reveal himself to her. We led to to Christ. She wept and the lord really did touch her. We now visit her village often. All proceeds from sale of my art, or donations made via our charity website goes to help extreme poor and sick in remote and rural villages of Africa. A sculpture on exhibit at the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, DC that captures a child’s attention. The artist is Ron Mueck, whose sculptures faithfully reproduce the minute detail of the human body, but play with scale to produce disconcertingly jarring visual images. This sculpture is part of an exhibition called Strange Bodies and its permanent home is now in DC at the Hirshhorn.
