The fires of the past few days are horrific. Way too many lives have been lost, not to mention all the animals, birds, wildlife and domestic stock. Families are in ruins, homes are destroyed. These two broke from shelter and ran towards us despite our obvious presence, leading one to wonder just what was behind them.
