My to do List…lol / Another beautiful day of doing nothing BUT following my 4 year old Granddaughter around with the camera and camcorder…much more fun than yard work. / Well… she happened to spot the broken screen on the shed door. / Her remark was…Grams you have to mend that!!! / This shot was taken with my Canon DC310
These images are of the streets of the Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. a town that I have made one of my favorite destinations for holidays. / / An old colonial town, conquered by the spaniards; much the same or similar to Cartagena, Colombia, but with its own charm and character. I love Puerto Rico !

The Sun sets on the Echo Drive In, both literally and figuratively. I didn’t realize it at the time that I’d photographed this theatre, but it was slated for demolition several months later. The waning light shows the gentle curvature of the screen. If you look close at the larger view of this image you can see the wading pool/fountain to the lower left of the screen. The Drive In was along Route #51 in Large, PA…not far from the Century III mall.

I had purchased my camera just hours before this shot was taken, keen to test settings and excited to see the results! I took a series of photos with the camera mounted on tripod, playing with remote shutter release to capture the laser show and the kaleidoscope of floodlights on the Eye as it turned. In conjunction with Malaysia’s 50th anniversary of independence, the International WaterSky Spectacular Laser Show at Lake Titiwangsa enthralled spectators over a period of 30 days. The laser show, choreographed to music, was beamed onto two mist-screens flanking the Eye. In some of my shots, breeze scattered the mist screen and created blurred images. Captured in the background, are the crystal lights of Petronas Twin Towers, Kuala Lumpur’s famed landmark. The laser image is KL Tower our telecommunications tower, which holds a revolving restaurant at the widest point. Camera: Olympus e-510
For Bubble Jeopardy. / I am looking for the path the light took from the light source to the camera’s lens. / In simple terms yet as precise as possible. Sun shining through from the outside / Condensation on the glass window is on the inside / Window screen is on the inside Solved By Didee

A wide panell with leaves infront of a screen design that creates contrast with the solid leaves and the thin lines of the screen and the bright orange and the green surrounds.

Just a fun quick piece for an educational display, showing how to screenprint in the style of Frank Miller’s Sin City. I did a few really fast indian ink sketches, scanned them in, and then played around with layout until it was sufficiently dynamic. You probably don’t need to be ‘Ready to Kill’ to get into screenprinting though!

Camera/Image details: This was an exercise in mixed lighting. The screen image is both an image component and a light source and I needed to light the computer and sword. I chose the overall exposure for the screen. I placed 3 flash units to provide uniform light on the laptop and the sword. The main flash was high and to the right, pointing down at 45 degrees directly at the keyboard but not directly at the screen. It is a panel flash so it provides diffuse light. The secondary flash was at keyboard level to the left pointed to the front of the laptop and across the keyboard. A smaller flash was on the floor pointing straight up and provides the light on the sword. Camera: Nikon CoolPix 8700 / ISO: 50 / Format: RAW – slight adjustment of shadows to restore depth of the blue laptop / Shutter: 1/2 second / Aperture: f/5.3 / Primary light: Sunpak FP38 – flash triggered / Secondary light: Nikon SB-600 – off camera with a sync cord / Tertiary light: Vivatar ring flash – flash triggered Camera, primary, and secondary lights on tripods.
