She’s so sweet and shy. She wears a traditional chinese costume with her feet slightly turned in. Flowers in her crazy ‘updo’ hair secured with a couple of chopsticks! Chinese Red Fan Girl stands before a warm glowing screen, patiently waiting for her little friend from Japan, ‘Little Blue Kimono’ to arrive. Chinese Red Fan Girl wears a pair of geta on her tootsies, a gift from ‘Little Blue’ The kanji symbols in the background on the screen translate into ‘One’s Dearest Wish’

A painting inspired by the art form of the Geisha. Her discipline and strength I admire. I have used ink, acrylic, charcoal and pastels to create Geisha Girl. The original painting is no longer available, but so glad she can come to you in the form of a greeting card. I hope you like her :D

Nothing new but …
This was one of my practice portraits I did back when I discovered I could paint. It’s one of my favorites. If I remember correctly it came out much better than the image I was using. I think the image was old faded and blotched just like the original Hollywood print -I think!
A lil something I am playing around with at the moment… A photo of a screen and over-layed with another photo taken from a screen… Any feedback is welcome =D Inspiration for this and previous image are directly from the wonderful Juilee Pryor If you do not know her, do yourself a favour and get to know her work, you will not regret it! This series is what got me started…
This was really inspired by the concept of the ‘92 movie / ‘Lawn Mower Man’ as a kid I loved it. This is a blue version of Hive, a recent photo I made which was part of an experimental series showing the television screen seen through various objects used in the living room. This one is a macro shot of a bundle of drinking straws, aimed at the TV. Obviously, the screen was showing something blue! The actual straws measure less than 5mm in diameter. I used a shorter focal length for this one, and we can see more of the straws in it. Focal length 22mm / ISO-100 / Aperture f/5,6 / Shutter 1/3 sec. / Shot in manual mode / White balance set to tungsten Nikon D60 / AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f3.5-5.6G VR / Close-up filters: CU+1, CU+2 and CU+3 Featured in the group Unconventional Artistry on January 3, 2008 RB Homepage feature on August 28, 2009 Finished in 8th position of Top 10 in the Blue Abstractions challenge of the Out of the Blue (75%+ Blue Artwork) group on January 13, 2009 Finished in 3rd position of Top 10 in the Black With a Hint of Blue challenge of the Black With a Hint of Colour group on August 27, 2009

This is my first pose-able robot. At last I got this long involved process to work! It starts with the Groboto free down-loadable Poser template; comes with a tutorial that’s somewhat flawed, but enables you to use the primitive shapes in Groboto to snap in place on the template, that takes a while, then export that to Poser, I guess later versions are best. Then, you apply it to a Poser skeleton, or “bones”, then if all is well, you can apply any pose to your robot, then export THAT to Bryce or Vue, and put into a scene. Whew! I finally had to ask the Groboto forum what I was doing wrong, and finally got this to work. More to come!
Back in the olden days if you wanted to get some interesting textures on to a model…. there was no photoshop about then infact it wasn’t even a twinkle in it’s inventors eye…so what you had to do was line up a lovely model and project interesting images over him or her…. like in these strange daze images I’m uploading. The images from this series turned up amongst some of my late fathers photographic archive which I’ve been endeavouring to sort out and digitize. I don’t know who the model is or why or when they were taken but the make up and hair on the model just shreaks ‘eighties’ to me…. so some love from way back when…. with thanks to my very very clever Dad…. enjoy / . /

there is just something so appealing about angels no matter where they turn up…. this is another of my series of slide projection photographs by my late father. They were most likely taken some time in the eighties and have never seen the light of day since. Lucky lucky me to find them hey and give them a little bit of an airing…. and this particular one is one of my favorites … well I have a couple of favs but this one really works for me…. the model and the image have really fused…. / . /
David Bowie ….eat your heart out….. another portrait shot from the series of slide projection photographs taken by my late father. This so reminds me of the sort of make up David Bowie used to wear back in the days…... / . /
