Snow Gums can show a wonderful range of bark colours. This particular tree was a lovely red. The patterns in the peeling bark gave the impression a large, clawed animal has been scratching the tree. ~ / Browse Images by Category : Snow Landscape Nature

Piece Two in my HSC body of Work. The series in total is called “Ascendancy” which means domination or influincing figure, but also has connotations to the ascention of Mary in Christianity. Basically what i tried to do was to show how humanity’s expression of faith has changed, evolved, or even stayed the same. “The Temptation” refers to the temptation of Christ by the devil (40 nights in the desert, etc) Compressed Charcoal on Paper / size: approx. 80×40 cms I would like to thank the wonderful photographer who allowed me to use his brilliant photographs as references throughout the series: mehmet turgut . Howard, RI water tower captured on a blustery New England “spring” day. Simple compositions work best for TtV. The sky was very gray, almost stormy, and the sun was about to set. Nikon D40 shot through a modified cereal box and then through the lens of a Carlton-Reflex camera. No photoshop other than the crop tool.
