One of my first shots taken a DSLR, shot two years ago in Edinburgh, Scotland, during the G8 Summit – which explains the large amount of “Save The World!”-pins on his jacket! Some months later, I got a note from a fellow photographer on deviantART.com, linking me to a picture he shot himself – of the very same man. It’s a small world, isn’t it?

Mouse drawn on the computer. Clive Scottie Howls imploringly that people would adopt & not buy from breeders or Puppy mills. If you must have a puredbred Dog or Cat, they also end up at the pound, this is a wasteful & neglectful generation, if a person, even if they spent hundred’s of dollars on a fancy breed, & decide they don’t want the trouble, etc, out in the trash those poor Dogs & Cats go

Photo of sunset that had a yellow beam which reminded me of the old program Star Trek. Enhanced in photoshop. / Thanks to White Spatula for this info. / SUN PILLAR- when the air is cold and the sun is setting or rising falling ice crystals can reflect sunlight and create an unusual column of light. Ice sometimes forms flat, six-sided shaped crystals as it falls from high level clouds. Air resistance causes these crystals to lie nearly flat much of the time as they flutter to the ground, sunlight reflects off crystals that are properly aligned creating the sun pillar effect. / This art work is registered copyright© 2008 and any infringement will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law in the USA and International. /

Anthony Mancuso directed me to one of his photos last night A word from above that jogged my memory that I had taken a similar sunset two months earlier from Mt Martha. When I was taking this I expected to see a spaceship come down lol, hence the title.
I found this unusual looking little flower last week. I have no idea what it is called – it looked like a little “puff” – anyway – I just couldn’t resist having some fun with it – I wanted to create something a little different – so hope you enjoy this :o)) / This is just one flower – that I have multiplied for this effect. / /
Okay, you can breathe easy again, because it’s not a UFO and I haven’t been kidnapped by aliens! It’s just an exquisite Indian-made lamp, from New Delhi. The thing that really caught my eye here was the rich burgundy fabric of the lampshade, which is made from raw silk. This, I was told, is famous for the seemingly rough, gnarly texture showing up as diagonal lines across the material. For this shot, I chose to focus on the weave of the fabric and the slim metal struts. I opted for depth of field to emphasise the glow of the lamp’s interior, as well as the two triangular segments of light reflected on the wall in the bottom left corner and top right corner. The geometrical aspect of this shot suggested itself. By tilting my camera to the left, I was able to produce an image that included two concentric circles, straight lines, two triangles as well as the tops of hexagons. I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my work in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F5.6, 1/45 sec, ISO 800, focal length 125mm. Featured in AUTHENTIC INDIA, August 2009. Featured in MOODY, DARK, EVOCATIVE, August 2009. 116-9071
A last closeup of the amazing rainbow at the eventful st marys loch regatta in the lovely scottish borders recently… The enterprise dinghy on the left is full of water from a capsize and the sails are rattling free to let the storm force gust marked by the dark water blow through without tipping the intrepid pair in again… remarkable strength and seamanship in the most challenging conditions.. Nikon D60 / Nikkor VR 18-200 lens / UV filter f/5.6 / 1/500sec / ISO-100 / -1 step / 150mm
