  • This reference is obscure, though the goggles were memorable. You’d have to search land scapes near and far …farscapes you might say… to understand this one. Artwork is intentionally rough; click for larger view. Do not expect photorealistic images; these are more like comic books.

  • Have you ever sat on a beach just as the sun is setting and watched the play of golden light across the sparkling water? What a gift of profound peace to be able to behold a thing of such indescribable beauty and to think many get to do this on a daily basis. We do tend to see the beauty in others backyards and fail to see what is breathtaking within our own. Take a moment and look around at what is surrounding you and really try to see with an open mind, the wonderment around you! You may be surprised at what you see. :-)

  • The Latin names of my plantscapes are all derived from the species living there. The green and yellow texture surfaces on this painting are inspired by a Lettuce Coral, Agaricia which is commonly found in the Caribbean. The bullio in the title is latin for ‘bubbling’. / I have also made a bronze & glass sculpture based on this painting. This image shows a detail. oil on canvas / 120×80 cm. / original sold

  • This was our away-team’s first look at the chosen exploration site, a beautiful chain of small islands in the southern hemisphere of this peaceful water world. / From orbit we had already learned quite a bit about the amazing life forms inhabiting the islands of Gloss, the first amazing fact is that there is no “food chain”, these silicon-based critters absorbed their nutrition from the sun, air, soil, and water, and therefore live in harmony without domination or competition. / The second amazing fact is their symbiotic relationship with each other and their environment; many of the smaller creatures literally join themselves together and with other forms to become like another creature, perform tasks as a team, then disassemble and move on to other work. There is a level of communication among all these life forms that’s often audible as musical twitters and electronic squeaks, bass notes, burbles and just about every other sound effect you can imagine, the overall effect is quite humorous, especially observing the ant-like industry with which all these creatures perform their chores. / Please follow along as I document the highlights of this memorable exploration. All images in this series are based on the beautiful fractal Once In A Dream by Owlspook: Here is the converted elevation map where it all started:
