Among my favorites at the Cockrell Butterfly Center in Houston is the Rice Paper butterfly. I loved the way it stood out on the flowers, its white and black basics blending into a beautiful tapestry with the colorful fragrant blossoms on which it fed.

A rice paper butterfly hangs onto this lovely pink flower and reminds me that we should hold on, too, when times get rough. The Bible tells us, “Because he clings to me, I will deliver him,” so clinging’s the answer when troubles come!

I thought these two rice paper butterflies looked like they were in conversation, enjoying each other’s company. That’s what triggered the idea for a “thanks for the hospitality” card. It seems so bright and cheerful, like all good friendships are.

This is a straight-from-pen-to-paper jobbie that drew itself the other day while my boys were playstationing in the lounge. I added some tone to the sky with p’shop, but that’s about it. / I like it coz it’s a bit of an un-planned homage to all the black and white comic books from the early 80’s that i loved, like 2000 Ad, Beano, Mad, Heavy Metal etc, that made me want to draw in the first place…

I love the simplicity of the Mandelbrot fractals—no messing, just glorious mathematical colour and pattern.

The Atmosphere on Aerth is of a different Air Density and Chemical Composition to that on Pre-Ancient Earth. Propellor and Turbine-Driven Aircraft are on a level similar to that occupied by the Jets. This has led to many of the older designs of Aircraft from the HiDis (The Records of Information from Earth) being modified and devloped by Aeronautical Engineers on Aerth. The J-33 White Tiger is a formidable Fighter Plane, quite Maneuverable in the thick lower atmosphere with Prop-Assisted Missiles and Six Magnetically-Accelerated Machine Guns in the Wings. The Primary Thrust from the Large, Five-Bladed Prop is Supplemented by a small Turbofan at the Base of the Tail. The Vents from this rear Engine provide extra speed and turning with Vectored Thrust…
