This reference is obscure, though the goggles were memorable. You’d have to search land scapes near and far …farscapes you might say… to understand this one. Artwork is intentionally rough; click for larger view. Do not expect photorealistic images; these are more like comic books.
Another in the fractured B Grade movie themes…this is a parody of the 1953 / 3D B-grade movie…Catwomen of the Moon. / Available as a poster, print, card and T.Shirt The storyline is roughly a race of stunning catwomen, the last of an ancient civilization plot to steal a spacecraft from an expedition from Earth….the party of guys think they’ve found paradise…..won’t tell you more but it’s a lot of fun with reviews ranging from highly imaginative, great fun with a box of popcorn to why did they bother…but I’m glad they did as it’s a hoot. / Image copyright © 2008 Shanina Conway. / Copying and displaying or redistribution of this image without permission from the artist is strictly prohibited. / if you enjoyed this work you might like / Lust in Space / Catwomen of Mars T-shirt /

Iconic rocket that took us to the moon in the 60s.
Here’s another reason space rocks…..............Slee Dragon Wings. What you may ask are Slee Dragon Wings, well’ SDW’s are the best delicacy in the know universe, and maybe in a few unknown ones as well. Every 70th turn of the moon “CandyRock”, the SD’s hatch in the gelitinous pink craters of said moon, they suck up the sweet pink nectar, and when their wings are thick and heavy, they lift off the surface. Once beyond the pull of the moon, they float in space until meeting the gravitational / pull of the planet Candy Wings, floating gently down through the atmosphere and pulled by the lure of the Big Rock Candy Mountains and the sweet treats that await. After landing their 4 wings break off, they then burrow into the sweetness to find a mate and breed. The wings are gathered by the older Slee Dragon females and sold off-world at a fine profit. / The delicacy can be savoured at many top-end eateries across the Universe. Recipe. 4 Wings (nobeing as ever eaten more than 4) / 3 succulent Grimbil Eggs / 5 measures of Kram Lizard Brains / 4 bottles of Guinness ( aged 100 years ) Marinate wings in eggs and brains for at least 5 months. / then cook slowly over a bed of hot Creelab Bark ashes ( about 4 hours) Serve with a sprig of shamrock. Wash it all down with the Guinness. A feast, just talking about it makes me salivate, mmmmmmmmmm good, a tad expensive, but well worth the creds. Dragons and plants created in Bryce.
Under the stars known as the Five-Starred Cross we look upon the Straits of Marok where the pirate queen BloodRaven the Slayer was finally caught. Some call the 5 stars BloodRavens Sisters. / The planet is Nembred III, the moon is Marbled Blue, the system is Gleeba, we are on the very edge of the Orion Galaxy. / In this region of space there are many close systems and suns, and of course in the foreground the mountain called Slayers Folly. It was a few hundred years ago that BloodRaven chased a small vessel into the bay, and so ran into the trap set just for her.
Once away from the lights of our encampment I was able to look up and really see the big red lady in the night sky. / Thats the great thing about these exploration trips, I get to see some amazing skyscapes. / Standing here in the Swift crater on the moon Deimos , I think back to a time in the far past when Jonathan Swift described the two moons of Mars in his novel “Gulliver’s Travels”. A coincidence some say, to know that Mars had 2 moons, 150 years before their discovery in 1877. / Or maybe not a coincidence, maybe Swift visited these moons and the red lady above. / Maybe he even stood in this very crater named in his honour. There are many strange happenings in this vast universe of ours, so who can really say. As with all my work, best viewed in zoom mode. Just click the image.
An early winter storm approaches beyond Celt Tor, reflected in the icy cold waters of the dark loch.
Today I drove from my old home to my new home, so in the morning I drove from the past into the future. / And when driving alone I listen to music, on my journey into the future today I listened to the sound track from *The Last of the Mohicans a challenging sound, a sound of the future, but also the sounds of the death chant of the “People”. So with that I drove into the dawn, in my mind there formed the image of northern regions, forests, lakes and rivers, and thats where I’m heading, to my new home on the river. But of course that image is for the future, it won’t go away, it will wait for when its needed. So with the day at an end, I have to return to the past, because the transition is still taking place, both physically and mentally, the past pulling me back, and the future just beyond the horizon. And so on the drive home I listened to ” Spirit Chaser ” an album with the sounds of the Skin Drum, the Rain Stick and just a pinch of the Didge, and in the background of the sounds of the deserts and forests, and bush. All this from the Anglo Irish group “Dead Can Dance” Showing me that the past will always be there, back beyond the mountains of the mind, it catches and is caught on the sharp edges and the imagination will bring it out when needed, but not always as remembered, for the imagination is not infallible. And so this is my image for this day of change and transition, its an image of deserts and ageless continuation, and a place to confront the Spirit Seeker, and yes,as with all things, it waits for me on an alien world
So called after Greenmo the Bold met Impermos the Grey Rider in mortal combat. Here at this ford on the Nylass River, Greenmo & the Rider fought for 65 turns of the moon, under the shadow of Grimmss World. / Having used every weapon and teaching at their disposal, and having spent the nights sharing a campfire. / They both knew that tomorrow one would pass on to a greater battlefield, whereas the winner would claim the Golden Chalice and so be crowned king. / .................................................................................................................... / Maybe it should have been called, Greenmos Folly. In the far northern hemisphere of Saturn’s moon Titan, lies the future city of Ringsview. I say future city because this will not be built until man decides there is more to life than this small planet. That beyond our atmosphere lies our future Of course to do that, humanity as first to put an end to war, and step into the future with one mind, as one people. / To take the human race to the stars, to explore the lights we have looked at in the heavens for thousands of years. Art over the centuries as boldly gone where no art as gone before! Art as evolved with leaps and bounds, it as crossed a great many mediums. And it had to happen, here we have the planet Epsilon-Epsilon. The planet was purchased by one individual for the sole purpose of creating a work of art. The planet as thousands of cities and towns, all built as different architectual art forms, they are not populated, in fact there are no beings that live on the whole planet. / There is a reception center on the largest moon, the “tours” can take anywhere from 1 to 10 years to complete. The artist know as *Alienvisitor plans to purchase the entire solar system and all 13 of its planets, so one day the system itself will become the art form. This is but a small sample of said art…...the city of Flight, the architecture here is based on but not exact of his *Cities in Flight Series. Featured in Images & Ideas Group 25/07/09
