Gryphon (or Griffin) / In ancient times it was considered the protector of the divine. The creature was seen in civilisations as early as the Minoan civilisation (2700BC to 1450 BC). / This is on the roof of the Nashville Parthenon. / Nashville’s Parthenon was the centerpiece of the 1897 Tennessee Centennial Exposition fair. A number of buildings at the Exposition were based on ancient originals. However, the Parthenon was the only one to have been conceived as an exact reproduction of the Athens Parthenon. It was also the only one to have been preserved by the city. (The Knights of Pythias building was purchased and moved to nearby Franklin, TN.) / Originally built of plaster, wood, and brick, the Parthenon was rebuilt in the 1920s on the same foundations, but with concrete. / Today, the Parthenon, functions as an art museum.

Took this shot in Germany in the Neckartal near Heidelberg. There you’ll find the Margarethen-ravine which has some nice cascades. The sun was making some disco lights on this waterfall which looked really nice :-) regards, / Michael

So we had all sorts of crazy weather this past weekend … from mist, to pounding rain, to howling winds … and a spot of sunshine for the briefest of moments … While it seemed that the heavens wouldn’t open I headed out and was treated :) Thought you might like Epping in it’s autumn garb & veiled with a lacy touch of mist :) The Epping Gallery on the main SeeOneSoul website has of course been updated, though so far only very few of the titles & descriptions are in :) Location: Epping Forest, Essex, UK / Camera:Canon EOS 450D / Focal length:53 mm / Exposure:1/50 at f/11 / ISO speed:ISO 800
I headed up to the deer sanctuary again yesterday … and I was in luck!! Big time, this time!!! As I approached along the path I could see a massive herd over in the distance, but they were on the move, yes, up towards the area from which you view the sanctuary! I was delighted! I figured if I headed up and gave them some time, I might get to see them a little closer than ever before. So I carried on up to the top … and oh my heavens! There was a bunch of them right up by the fence. I didn’t want to startle or disturb, but my approach did cause some of the more skittish to move off … / But still – I think I spent about an hour or more up there and I felt properly treated! Once I’d gotten settle they weren’t really bothered with me and moved about doing their thing :) I think I’ll upload one or two more shots of the day, but if you want to see the full series, you can pop on over to the deer sanctuary gallery on the main SeeOneSoul website For those who’d like a little bit more information about Epping Forest and the places of special interest in the area, I found the Easy Access Leaflet to be nice and descriptive :) Enjoy ~ Tina

Featured in The Woman Photographer on 12 November 2009 – thank you so much! this image was taken on the 2nd Feb 2009 when we had those incredibly heavy snows here in London (heaviest snow fall this area has seen in the last 18 years or so!) It was an incredible day where all public transport was a total shambles and the city of London came to a grinding halt as folk could not get to into the city / to the office. Instead, people headed outdoors to enjoy the splendour of the day!! What a delight!!! And this image just seems to make the perfect Season’s Greetings card :) hence the upload now :)) I’d initially uploaded it here (my “old” profile … thanks to everyone who visited and left such generous notes and comments back then and even recently :) More seasonal images of the Epping Forest area can of course be viewed on the main SeeOneSoul website ... pages 7 – 9 of the Epping Gallery contain the winder shots :) Hope you enjoy viewing as much as I enjoyed seeing, experiencing & creating ;) ~ Tina
