There are people who are able to take a Spiritual journey of knowledge and understanding on their own. The majority of us need a skillful teacher to direct, encourage and stimulate our awakening. The Teacher that has appeared today brings us wisdom and inspiration, as all good teacher’s should do. She is free from the constraints of her ego and will help us discover deity through the senses of emotions and humility.

In my 8th grade World History class, my teacher Mr. Billings wrote on one of my term papers: “To a gentleman and a scholar…” and I never forgot that. Here is an image I saw of mosaics on a NY Subway wall that I enhanced on PhotoShop that I call “The Scholar”. Sold 1 laminated print to a RedBubbler.
sometimes in moments of lucid dreaming I think that I can’t remember my real name… not the name my parents gave me but a deeper name…. sometimes I have a sense of that deeper self within but it’s elusive and emphemeral …. but I think about it sometimes…... if I could remember my real name I’d have a better idea of what I’m supposed to be doing in the world…... if I could remember my name this is most likely what I be like…or that’s what I would like to think anyway …... so although this is not actually me…. it is also me…. just nameless. maybe this is from a dream… I can never be sure with some work…. this is one of those works….. anyway …. this started out in life as black and white 35mm negative that has been processed and scanned then digitally handcoloured

The scholar always aspires to expand the knowledge for themselves, as well as for all humanity. The teachings are given for the community; to learn, to grow, to evolve. When time has taken them, few can recall their noble thoughts. There are some, however, that hold on to the ideals passed down through the ages. It is then when the scholar’s endeavors are rewarded… in the rising laureate. Dedicated to my sweetheart. My sweetheart and I attended a Renaissance Fair in Kansas City some years ago where, in an old building, I stumbled upon a dark corner of forgotten objects. I loved the look, the gathering of old pieces hardly looked upon, and tried my best to get a good photograph. I upped the ISO, which accounts for the noise, though I’m glad it turned out this way. The grittiness truly shows the aging, here. Canon EOS 30D DSLR
This is my wonderful husband Munir, he is very happy and laughs a lot. We have been married for 27 years and have raised a very large family of yours, mine and ours. 9 all told. We now have almost 12 grandchildren. As you can see Munir has not only survived, but he is still a lot of fun to be with. I love him very much. / Taken with my Canon 40 DSLR with the macro lens, using studio lighting / focal length 100mm / F/stop 2.8 / exposure 1/5 sec / thanks for visiting
Siddhārtha Gautama (Sanskrit; Pali: Siddhattha Gotama) was a spiritual teacher in the northern region of the Indian subcontinent who founded Buddhism. He is generally seen by Buddhists as the Supreme Buddha (Sammāsambuddha) of our age. The time of his birth and death are uncertain: most early 20th-century historians date his lifetime from c. 563 BCE to 483 BCE; more recently, however, at a specialist symposium on this question, the majority of those scholars who presented definite opinions gave dates within 20 years either side of 400 BCE for the Buddha’s death, with others supporting earlier or later dates. Gautama, also known as Śākyamuni or Shakyamuni (“sage of the Shakyas”), is the key figure in Buddhism, and accounts of his life, discourses, and monastic rules are believed by Buddhists to have been summarized after his death and memorized by his followers. Various collections of teachings attributed to Gautama were passed down by oral tradition, and first committed to writing about 400 years later. Early Western scholarship tended to accept the biography of the Buddha presented in the Buddhist scriptures as largely historical, but currently “scholars are increasingly reluctant to make unqualified claims about the historical facts of the Buddha’s life and teachings.” /
This unposed shot was taken on the steps of the Melbourne Exhibition Centre about five weeks ago. Even though it’s winter here, the afternoon sun can sometimes produce great shadows. I was going to take a straight-on shot of these steps. Then I thought it would be far more interesting to wait a few minutes and actually try and get a shot of feet on the steps as someone walked past. I was standing on the Yarra side of the Melbourne Exhibition Centre and you’d reckon there’d be a lot of people walking past. But no, I had to wait a few minutes and I was determined to shoot the first person, without asking them to walk at a particular angle or at a certain pace. It’s an interesting task, because you don’t know whether the person is going to walk straight, diagonally, up the stairs or down them. Luckily this person strode along the top of the walkway and I was able to get a perfectly candid, unposed shot of his shoes – and a clearly defined shadow. I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my work in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F11, 1/500 sec, ISO 200, focal length 98mm. featured in Current Issues / featured in Enchanting Powerful Photo Manipulation / featured in Politics, Race, Sexuality and Culture digital photo collage In his book ”Arguing With Idiots” Beck reprints and then praises Article I, Section 9, Clause 1 of the Constitution: / The Migration or Importation of such Persons as any of the States now existing shall think proper to admit, shall not be prohibited by the Congress prior to the Year one thousand eight hundred and eight, but a tax or duty may be imposed on such Importation, not exceeding ten dollars for each Person. The clause Beck thinks has something to do with “A price tag on coming to this country” was in fact a clause that made it illegal to ban the importation of slaves, until at least 1808, but it gave Congress the right to tax a slave owner ten bucks for each new slave he brought in.”

I once had a dream I believed was so real that every day since has been like a nightmare. The days pass by, the hours tick past on the clock’s face and I am left alone here in this place. I miss the glory of walking with clouds and flying in emptiness. I pine for the fire that once consumed me and rebirthed me a new creature of power and grace, something that could never be hurt by something so simple as words and glares…something not like me at all. “it’s hard to say that I’d rather stay awake when I’m asleep” – Owl City
