Done in Tierazon Rainbow Scepter Down the road I ride, / my Rainbow Scepter at my side. / Through the highs and lows, / my Rainbow Scepter casts its glow. I sit up high on my trusty toad. / Riding down this dark and dusty road, / What lurks beyond I do not know. / My way is lit by my Rainbow Scepter’s glow. It glows both day and night / and keeps me always in the light. / I fear nothing, not even the worst / And then suddenly my Rainbow Scepter burst. Now, my trusty toad and I / will be heading for the sky. / The final destination / of our glorious salvation. /

2007, Oil on Canvas, 12” x 16” Even king sheep have moments when they reflect on things greater than themselves – giving up the crown, the scepter and the royal cape really takes a lot from the sheep that has an ego the size of New Zealand sheep farm. Handing power over to someone else really isn’t their favorite thing in life. This piece captures a moment between the king and the king-to-be, a small and yet powerfully significant exchange for both of them and for the rest of us as well. One of my less silly and more meaningful works – hopefully as meaningful to you as it is to myself, the sheep and world peace.

this char has been in creation limbo for… well, the better part of 20 yrs i was going to do a story on robots in 9th grade, and got stuck in the designing department (which was a good thing)... king rust was a design i just couldn’t create, no matter how hard i tried…so here he is, 20 yrs late, in all his dilapidated glory…
