  • View of Crater Lake National Park, Oregon, USA, from a pullout on the West side. Wizard Island in the center. This is the smallest portion of the lake. The biggest part is on the other side of the Island. The lake is 6 miles long and 5 miles wide and almost 2,000 feet deep. It is an ancient volcano cauldron that sits on top of the Cascade mountain range. It is very accessible to visit, though. There is even wheelchair access.

  • Joshua trees in Joshua Tree National Park, California

  • Captured out on the plains of Eastern Colorado at Sunset, they just went on for miles and miles….like a fantasy world of never ending Sunflowers..processed in HDR

  • Contemplative Native American Dancer waiting to enter the ring at the “wacipi”.

  • Colorado is certainly known for it’s parks, and this one I happened upon out of the blue one day….it really is a majestic site, with these odd rock formations just jetting straight up from the earth, as if reaching for the sky. I was also lucky enough to capture the distant clouds as they were building for afternoon thunderstorms, later that day….spose you can say I like the sense of drama that they add to the image overall. / HDR processed, thoughts most welcomed! —-—-—-—-— See more on my website jdebordphoto.com / All artwork is © John De Bord, All Rights Reserved. • Click Here / Upper Antelope Canyon – USA Tour 2008 The Navajo name for Upper Antelope Canyon is Tse’ bighanilini, which means “the place where water runs through rocks.” Upper Antelope is at about 4,000 feet in elevation and the canyon walls rise 120 feet above the stream bed. Though dry most of the year, Antelope Canyon runs, and sometimes floods, with water after rains. It is the water, slowly wearing away the sandstone grain by grain, that has formed the beautiful and graceful curves in the rock. Wind has also played a role in sculpting this fantastic canyon.
