Mooney Falls is a waterfall on Havasu Creek, in the northwest corner of the U.S. state of Arizona, near the town of Supai in the Havasupai Indian Reservation. It is named after prospector D. W. “James” Mooney who fell to his death trying to cross the canyon on a homemade ladder. Local Native Americans called it “Hualapai” or “Hualpai” falls. It is located about 1 kilometre downstream (i.e. to the north) of Havasu Falls, just past the large campground that lies between the two falls. Mooney Falls is accessible with considerable difficulty down a very steep trail (including two rock tunnels) that has been cut into the rock. Chains and a ladder at the bottom assist, but spray from the falls coats the dust-covered rock with water and reddish mud that makes climbing treacherous.
Many trials I overcame / There I remained just the same / Through drought, wind, rain, and hail / I hung there and did not fail The suns face, less I did see / As I hung there on the tree / My beauty then I did show / But struggled not to let go A strong north wind came that day / Force so great I could not stay / On a rock I hang on still / Though the air is starting to chill I hang on for you to see / This is what matters to me / If to you, joy I did bring / It will cause my heart to sing Image made on Porters Creek,Greenbrier section of the Great Smoky Mountain NP ©2008 Gary L. Little Pigeon River with fall colors in Great Smoky Mountains, Tennessee
This the second piece in my on-going wildlife series, featuring the Brown Bear hard at work on a beautiful, sunny day in August. The original is 30”x40”, acrylic on canvas. I really enjoyed working on this painting, it definitely reminded me of how much I like to paint wildlife scenes. All materials used to make this piece are high quality and acid free, made to last through generations. Please contact with any questions, comments or further information.

Hear me for my song I will sing / Let your heart slow within thee / Listen and peace I will bring / My song is calming you’ll see I tumble down this long hill / Listen to me as I go / Close your eyes, be very still / Clear your mind of what you know Hear me as I splash below / My murmuring song do here / As over the rock I tumble so / Your mind then will become clear To go now, but you must bide / My song was without one word / Has brought you peace deep inside / Sense you stopped an me you heard Picture was taken along The Roaring Fork in back of Ephraim Bales cabin, GSMNP Camera: Canon Rebel Xti… Lens: Canon 28-135mm…. / Focal Length: 70mm… Aperature Priority… / Shutter Speed: 1/8 s… F/Stop: f/9… / ISO: 100… Tripod: Bogen…… Bias 0.0EV… / Filters:Hoya Polarizer… Cable Release… … / Format:RAW

Each of us are different. How we go about doing things may be different also. Some may go with the main flow of life and some the less traveled paths. Each of us has something to contribute though, and that diversity in itself helps us to be individuals. So don’t worry about if you go with the flow or a different less traveled path. This is a shot of the Middle Prong Little River in the Tremont area of the Great Smoky Mountains. Its flow is low due to lack of rain. Suddath Due to a successful brook trout restoration program, for the first time in 30 years, anglers are now able to fish for brook trout in park streams of the Smoky Mountains. These streams were once ruined by logging. The brook trout was also rooted out my non native rainbow and brown trout. Our waters are precious for our life and all of natures, help keep them clean. Feel The Coolness On Your Skin / As You Set Beside Me Close Your Eyes And Be Lost in Thought…
The Little River peacefully flowing thru Townsend, Tennessee. This has been altered in PS and some noise added to give it a vintage effect.
Pull over and rest a while. Don’t let the stress of your daily life and bumper to bumper traffic get you down. Stop and hang around a while. Explore my banks for something missed by the hosts of those rushing by. They give but a glance and often miss my beauty. Let the rushing today, be my waters as they babble on their way. Let my waters and wind be a song in your ears. Hear the quaking of my leaves as they rustle above you. Close your eyes and let me envelop you. See you feel better already ain’t you glad you decided to hang around awhile…..Little River from the side of Little River Road, Great Smoky Mountain N.P.
