A beautiful evening on the coast in the Netherlands
Captured in the Alluvial Fan area of Rocky Mountain National Park, needless to say I am glad my tripod weighs a ton as the wind was almost unbearable when I was shooting this. But Natures drama can make for some great atmospheric shots! Thoughts welcomed! / See more on my website at jdebordphoto.com

The beautiful Inlet Hill in the Whitsundays. I was lucky enough to get a birds eye view of the amazing scenery. It cost me a small fortune, but it was worth it!
Wildflowers amongst a quiet stream grow in the Alluvial Fan area of Rocky Mountain National park during summer …..such an utterly tranquil scene, I think if you listen close you can hear the water run!
Wildflower Ridge Boreas Pass Colorado, is an amazing place, and one that a photographer can get lost in, a lack of people makes the area wonderful to study and shoot. Hard to beat it up here during wildflower season! Thoughts welcomed! / —-John

Grand Canyon under rainy clouds, Arizona in USA. There is also Condor flying there (for those with better eyes :-)) Captured with Nikon D70.
Down in Grand Canyon but still far away from the bottom. You can most likely spot the small houses and also (for those with eagle eyes) two people are walking near white road bend. I know I have seen them with my binoculars ;)). That gives an good idea about size of Grand Canyon.. Captured with Nikon D70
Tanah Lot on Bali’s southern coast may be one of the most photographed Hindu shrines in the world. I shot of this one-off in 1976 at the start of my never-ending travels in Asia. A few days later I took the single Kintimani photograph (in my portfolio). My mother had given me her old camera, can’t even remember the make, but it was probably 20-30 years old back then, to record my travels around the world, which I figured would take about 2 years (hhmm, 33 years later and I still haven’t made it across Asia to Europe… yet!) It had a wonderful brown leather case, was fully manual, and I used kodachrome film, which meant months before I could see the results. I just rediscovered these slides, inspired by RB I suppose, and scanned them. They bring back some powerful memories….
Parque Nacional de Los Glaciales, El Chalten ( Argentina ) ! After hiking a few hours I came across this beautiful scene, at least for me. Although I could feel like a sense of desolation at the same time I loved the scenery in front of me. / It may look a quite a simple shot.. and it was… but I was so exhausted that I really struggled to take my camera and press the bottom. / I think I could have taken fantastic pictures here just my body and my mind were too tired !
Nature’s window in Kalbarrii National Park was my final destination of my short three days road trip in Western Australia. Well, I picked up some brochures in a hotel in Perth, and all I could find there for a day trip were either The Pinnacles or Margaret River. That’s how I made my plan, you can read about it here if you like. Kalbarri was around 700 kilometeres away and even though I really wanted to get there, I wasn’t sure if it was wise to get on such a long journey in three days. Well, as you can see from the title, I made it, and it is a magnificent place that I would love to visit again, with better planning next time! :-)) Thank you for looking, few more photos to come and needless to say, better viewed large I will finish the Journey installments for anyone interested, soon :-)) Canon 5D, / Canon EF 24-105 IS Lens, / Apperture: F 11, / Speed: 0.8 seconds, / FL: 24 / Filter: Hoya circular polariser
Taken October 26, 2008. This is not the best piece, but I felt like sharing because Venice was my favourite city in Italy. Unfortunately it was also where my cheap handheld Olympus FE-220 camera broke. It dropped during the Biennale, and a sharp pebble on the ground punctured the screen. I could still take pictures but I could not see what I was taking, and my camera did not have a view finder so everything was pure judgement. This happened on the last day of my Northern Italy field trip; so I spent the evening and the next morning doing “blind photography”. If I wanted to change a setting I could not see the menu, so I had to bear in mind how many times I were to press up, down, left or right to get the option, which by my gut instinct, I thought would be the best as I would not be able to preview it. I also had to make sure I kept my camera still for a reasonable amount of time for the night shot settings. We only spent one day in Venice and this was perhaps the most decent picture I got there. All my most decent pictures were from the night; during the day I was at the Biennale, and it was already dark by the time it was over. The next day there were too many people :P
