As mentioned in my Penguin in a Snow Storm, I saw mobii’s Origami Penguin Tee shirt, and wanted to give it a go myself. This is the scenario I had in mind for it, and the first penguin I folded (the one in Penguin in a Snow Storm folded from a 7×7mm piece of paper) was too small, so I folded two bigger penguins with 14×14mm pieces of paper. The one on the left is flying up a bit after the right one stomped onto the other end. The seasaw is a cotton swab, and the “ice”, upon which the penguins and seesaw are reflected, is a plastic container. by Lisa Weber

    US$4.26–US$97.28

I created these 2 pieces (slightly different from one another Transcension By Devine Light ) then a title came to mind (btw~it always happens this way for me) the word TRANSCENSION, it fit it perfectly then i pulled it up on google and found this article: Answering the Fermi Paradox: Exploring the Mechanisms of Universal Transcension, © 2002-2007 by John Smart / http://www.accelerating.org/articles/answeringfermiparadox.html / This was the section that stood out to me: / In transcension, once intelligence saturates its local environment, it is constrained to leave local spacetime. It learns how to enter hyperspace, that suspected multidimensional environment hinted at in our string, supersymmetry, and M-theory, and within which cosmologists tell us new universes may be born and other yet-uncertain events may happen. In transcension, advanced intelligence inevitably moves out of our slow and computationally-restrictive spacetime, multi-locally, once it reaches a certain point in its development. The developmental singularity hypothesis is one of several possible versions of the transcension scenario, but it need not be proven correct for constrained transcension to remain the destiny of local intelligence. / In this section i read, i realized this is what i was deplicting, a transformation of this being into a higher state and leaving of this space and time. Isnt it amazing how something you create triggers you to find its meaning and a justification of why you sought out to create it? Lisa C. I wrote the starting point for this story a few years ago while we were on holiday in Tenerife. My wife was reading a magazine while sunbathing on a lounger by the pool and my two sons were listing to music so no one wanted to speak with me. So I decided to jot a few notes down for the story and came up with this idea. Thanks for reading it and please don’t get nightmares…...

Dangling precariously from a ledge, Jeffery washed a dirty window while whistling to himself quietly. Seventeen stories below, businessman Archer Keenan stepped outside wearing an expensive suit while yelling angrily into his mobile phone. Meanwhile across the street Karen pulled out of a parking space to go pick up her daughter from school. The one thing these three strangers had in common was that today they would all die at the same time. Jeffery scratched his nose and grinned absently at his reflection in the glass. Archer yelled into his phone, his cheeks bright red from high blood pressure. Karen sighed while watching a long line of cars pass as her indicator ticked rhythmically. All three totally unaware that in a matter of seconds an event would happen that would send all three of them to their simultaneous death. / / Perhaps Jeffery would slip, his lanky body plummeting down seventeen stories to land on Archer Keenan’s bald head. Karen watching in shock would accidentally hit the accelerator and drive forward into oncoming traffic. Or maybe Archer would get so angry that he’d throw his phone across the street, and it would fly through Karen’s window, causing a fatal blow to her head. She would slump forward onto the horn. And Jeffery looking down toward the noise would lose his balance, fall on Archer, and ground him into the pavement. Or perhaps Karen would light a cigarette, unaware that her car had a gas leak. The tank catching alight would shoot a fireball across the street at Archer. Archer’s highly expensive and highly flammable suit would instantly go up in flames. Karen’s car would then explode and Jeffery looking down at the commotion would get dizzy and plummet down seventeen stories to land with a thud on Archer, who had been running around in circles whilst on fire. But what is the chance of one of these scenarios happening? Somewhere in the vicinity of one in a billion. No what actually happened was, just at the moment that Karen finally got a break in the traffic. Right when Archer’s face turned a brighter shade of red. At the very moment Jeffery’s right index finger scratched his left earlobe. A huge asteroid collided with the earth, causing the planet to implode. Jeffery, Archer and Karen where engulfed in a one hundred thousand degree fireball, dying instantly and simultaneously. Along with the rest of the planet of course.

  • Global warming scenario in fossit record 55 milliom years ago

55million old global warming / Climatic Chain Reaction Caused Runaway Greenhouse Effect 55 Million Years Ago / From: Utrecht University / Published December 26, 2007 10:55 AM RELATED ARTICLES / • Ancient British Bog May Hold Climate Change Clues / • FACTBOX: Methane, from Cow Burps to Rice Paddies / • Study Says Methane a New Climate Threat / • Carbon dioxide at record high, stoking warming: WMO Analogous to the Earth’s current situation, greenhouse warming 55 million years ago was caused by a relatively rapid increase of CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere. This phase, known as the Paleocene-Eocene thermal maximum (PETM), was studied using sediments that accumulated 55 million years ago on the ocean floor in what is now New Jersey. / The new study shows that a large proportion of the greenhouse gases was released as a result of a chain-reaction of events. Probably due to intense volcanic activity, CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere became higher and the ensuing greenhouse effect warmed the Earth. As a result, submarine methane hydrates (ice-like structures in which massive amounts of methane are stored) melted and released large amounts of methane into the atmosphere. / This further amplified the magnitude of global warming, which comprised about 6o C in total. The study is the first to show such a chain reaction during rapid warming in a ‘greenhouse world’. / The new research confirms that global warming can stimulate mechanisms that release massive amounts of stored carbon into the atmosphere. Current and future warming will likely see similar effects, such as methane hydrate dissociation, adding additional greenhouse gases to those resulting from fossil fuel burning. / Last year, the same group of researchers showed in Nature that tropical algae migrated into the Arctic Ocean during the PETM, when temperatures rose to 24oC. Current climate models are not capable of simulating such high temperatures in the Arctic, which has repercussions for the predictions of future climate change. In addition to Al Gore’s presentation, this type of research shows what a greenhouse world looks like, including palm trees and crocodiles in the Arctic. / Journal Article: ”˜Environmental precursors to rapid light carbon injection at the Palaeocene/Eocene boundary’ by Appy Sluijs, Henk Brinkhuis, Stefan Schouten, Steven M.
