Lily loves birds, but you already guessed that, right? These are three of her darling bluebird friends, helping her with her hair. Actually two of them are helping and one is having a little rest (lazy bugger). ..................................♥ the fine print ♥…................................ Is she saying hello or saying goodbye? This gorgeous blue eyed beauty has a well-crafted paper aeroplane circling her. Whether it’s about to land or about to take-off is anyone’s guess. This piece reminds me of all those teary airport hellos and farewells of my 20s! ..................♥ the fine print ♥…............... Most people have cats or dogs as pets, but not this little miss. She’s adores insects and has made friends with a darling little blue caterpillar. The name ‘inchworm’ is from a song in the 1952 film, Hans Christian Anderson – which I’m fairly sure was redone by the Muppets. :) ..................♥ the fine print ♥…............... An Interview with ScarlettCat
by BubbleDollAn Interview with ScarlettCat _Following from the chain of interviews from this thread...
An Interview with ScarlettCat Following from the chain of interviews from this thread, I decided to tag ScarlettCat! I love ScarlettCat’s illustrative style! (^^) ScarlettCat (Kate Lightfoot), is famously known for her subtle, beautiful drawings and paintings of quirky, gorgeous and fashionable, big-eyed, flirty girls. ScarlettCat’s drawings and paintings are created on natural surfaces, with minimal colour. Colour emphasis within her work are on the expression of her illustrated girls and on other complimentary shapes within the composition of her work. How does being a creative person and pursuing your creativity affect other aspects of your life? It makes me one hell of a gift wrapper, it means I get very little sleep, it makes me spend half of my pay packet on art and design books and fashion magazines. It means I find inspiration in everything and maybe look at things a little differently – I mean it’s never just a tree is it? It’s always a potential painting, or a pattern in the next piece of art you produce! I work in advertising, so my day job is in a creative field too. I am lucky enough to be constantly surrounded by creative people who see things in a different light and love to play with ideas, images and words. Tell us about one person or moment that has made your time on RedBubble particularly special or meaningful. Actually, it’s this one! RedBubble has made me feel like I am part of a community. I am more active within this community. I have also been obsessing with checking out all the great artists here. At RedBubble, I have ended up with a massive list of favourites. Great idea! Show & tell us about five works on RedBubble that have moved or inspired you. 1. Bubble Doll – Clutter my Heart with Toxic Skulls / I love the unique use of a graphic image to create another graphic image. It is not just cute, it is clever. I also adore the title. It is so much fun! 2. Douzy – Blue Gaze / OK, I will admit it. I do love kittens, and boy this is an adorable shot. I love the focus on that little blue eye. This is a great composition which seems to capture the essence of ‘kitten’, that single minded stare. 3. Bec Winnel – Gisele / Bec is a wonderful artist and I have enjoyed watching her work develop. This piece is just stunning. I particularly love the pattern in the hat and those gorgeous soft greens, and the way she lets the image blend into nothing. It has a dreamy feel to it. 4. Skaffs – Untitled / Skaffs’ girls are so adorable and I love the simplicity of this piece. Like everyone, I love to see something new and the mooses (what is the plural for a moose?!) were something I hadn’t seen in art before. While everyone else is drawing a reindeer, Skaffs did something a little different and executed it beautifully. 5. Phresha – Balloons make me crazy!! / I love illustrations on a brown paper background and this is a really energetic piece. It is fun. I love the use of black, white and brown. Those balloon strings give them so much bounce!
