  • Ducks in the woods, Hinchingbrooke Park , Cambridgeshire, a really beautiful day , these ducks looked so happy and they seemed to all be chatting to one another..

  • Face like tree in the woods, autumn time 2007

  • We took a drive to the other side of the park to see the ducks and geese….poor little guys, they stay here all winter because people feed them all during the warmer months even though there are signs all over saying not to….I wonder if those same people venture out of their warm homes to feed them, when their ponds are frozen and they are hungry. / . / . I had to nab a shot of these shadows at sunset and you can see some of the little guys in the background. / .. / . / . / . / . / . / . / . / . . . / . / . / . / Landscape photography….cheap kodak digital camera…set to landscape and added a small touch of shadow…he he he. Wish I had the fancy stuff but not too bad anyway huh ? (crosses fingers). Maybe after Christmas I’ll get my hands on one and begin to learn what all the talk is.

  • I wanted to get a photograph the waterfalls in Pontneddfechan, Wales. I did some research, planned my route in the GPS and packed my kit. The chap in the waterfall centre was very helpful and was keen to tell me the proper welsh name of the waterfalls. I smiled and nodded, I still don’t have a clue to this day what he was talking about. Unfortunately I lost the map I bought and stupidly brought along my bicycle for quick access. Bad move. I had to carry my bicycle for most of the 10 miles round trip and also had to transverse a waterfall as I got stuck on the wrong side of the river and watched a load of guys in wetsuits try to walk behind the waterfalls and fail. All good fun. / This is my first attempt at taking wateralls so please be gentle. Canon 5D, 24-70mm at 50mm, f/20, 2.5 sec, ISO 50. ND filter used. Dust and scratches removed in photoshop, upped the saturation by +2 This shot is also available from a photobook collection called Rural Mementos by redtree.me © Copyright 2009 David Reid – redtree.me – All rights reserved.

  • Love those ripples and sand crab wallows…

  • Following mini DIY disaster (total house flood), I was getting stir crazy in the house and wanted to get away to photograph some scenery. Not deterred by the previous driving nightmare to the Brecon Beacons, I decided once again to take a 2 hour trip to Wales…. 8 hours later with baby in tow I was still unnerved and optimistic about the weather, fading light and wonderful fun we would both have waterfall chasing in the morning after a good nights sleep. My little baby had other ideas. She woke at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6am. OMG we were tired. In my sleep addled brain I thought that a little drive may help matters and decided to take in a little waterfall recon. Tantrums, crying and despondency gave me the impression that she did not like waterfalls. Humph. / Instead of the waterfalls I managed to capture a couple of landscapes while she chased sheep and deer. I hope you like them. Canon 5D, 24-70mm at 32mm, f/16, 50 sec, ISO 100. Dust and scratches removed in photoshop. ProPhoto RGB profile, 16bit, 3 stop layered composition. • I lost about 8 years of work due to a accidental click of a delete key in 2004, I stupidly had not backed up the work. Two days ago while clearing out the loft I found the photo of the girl with some others I thought had been lost forever, phew. The shot of the girl was taken in Sailsbury, Wiltshire, UK 2002 at a Civil War Reenactment and the the background is a lovely walk through Ashridge, Bedfordshire UK, which I took yesterday, I have added a few textures to the overall blend. The composite work has been done in photoshop CS4. I hope you like it. Greeting Cards / Framed Print / Girl / Canon D60, 70-200mm at 200mm, f/5.6, 1/250 sec, ISO 400. / No filters used and hand held.
