Ducks in the woods, Hinchingbrooke Park , Cambridgeshire, a really beautiful day , these ducks looked so happy and they seemed to all be chatting to one another..

We took a drive to the other side of the park to see the ducks and geese….poor little guys, they stay here all winter because people feed them all during the warmer months even though there are signs all over saying not to….I wonder if those same people venture out of their warm homes to feed them, when their ponds are frozen and they are hungry. / . / . I had to nab a shot of these shadows at sunset and you can see some of the little guys in the background. / .. / . / . / . / . / . / . / . / . . . / . / . / . / Landscape photography….cheap kodak digital camera…set to landscape and added a small touch of shadow…he he he. Wish I had the fancy stuff but not too bad anyway huh ? (crosses fingers). Maybe after Christmas I’ll get my hands on one and begin to learn what all the talk is.

Ok, time to get serious now. This is a bridge across an estuary at South West Rocks, NSW….gorgeous place, lovely scene. We arrived here just on sunset, so had to very quickly find something to photograph…..as we do :) This was shot the next morning, on the way home…. Looks like a moonscape to me but it is the tufas built up along the shore of Mono Lake The tufas are formed when fresh water springs containig calcium bubble up through the carbonate-rich lake water. Whitish limestone formations are formed, eventually becoming spires.

I ran down the jetty almost slipping and breaking my neck! but i managed to rattle just three shots off before the light faded into the biteing wind. Canon 50D, 10-22, f-15, 3 brkt shots -2, 0, +2, photomatix-ed and a bit of photoshop, i was going to add more contrast, but i like the softness.
