This is a newly made scanograph that was subsequently manipulated and tweaked in PhotoShop. My intent was to use things not generally used to carry the feel of fall (such as colorful leaves), and yet still to invoke that familiar sense of autumn. After arranging multiple items on the bed of my scanner a number of different times, this is my favorite of the captured images.

The first day I got my scanner out, after discovering you can take pictures on them, my cat jumped up onto the glass and this was the result! My first scan. I was hooked! © Walker 2008 No part of this image may be copied or reproduced in any way without permission. All rights reserved. Crikey, 3503 views as at 4th November 2009
Another shot of Flick, my cat, sitting on my scanner. It would be nice if she would keep still a little more often but she always tries to chase the light as the scanner goes across the glass. © Walker 2008 No part of this image may be copied or reproduced in any way without permission. Scanner Art or Scanography describes the technique of creating art using a flatbed scanner. Scanners can be used to create everything from unusual self portraits to collages featuring everyday objects or macro images of flowers.
