Evening light by the peak Skogshorn in south-eastern Norway. Canon EOS 400D with Tokina 12-24
A fascinating and beautiful beach on the west coast of Norway. These huge boulders roll in and out when the powerful North Seas waves hit them. It makes an eerie and almost frightening sound.
Reeds in the water. Fascinating…the base of each reed had a small water bubble reflecting the setting sun. Sandnes, Norway.
Wonderful window buried in the very thick stone wall of a Middle Ages Monastery on the west coast of Norway.
This little one-house island in Norway looked like a fairytale place to live…..

My best friend when I lived in Norway was a 90 year old retired doctor. As a young man he had dreamed of being an architect or a muscian, but ended up choosing the practical route and became a doctor. Even at 90 he still talked about his life long dream of designing homes and playing music. He kept a piano in his home – always tuned – and owned several violins, including a special Norwegian violin called a “Hardangerfele”. He loved sharing his stories of travelling to Denmark in the summers and playing music with a group of Norwegian musicians when school was over for the summer. He had such fond memories of these times – I could listen to him talking all day long…..we would sit in his kitchen or out in his garden sharing a glass of wine, ltalking and laughing. This is a photo I took of one of his violins. This photo is in honor of his dreams…..he died a couple of years ago. I miss you terribly, dear friend.
I passed this little yellow boathouse almost everyday when I lived on the west coast of Norway. The colors were always ever changing with the weather, so sometimes it was vivid yellow, and sometimes it was pale pastel yellow, but it was always intriguing to me and oh, so picturesque! Image is “As Is”.
A winter panorama shot of the valley Valldal on the west coast of Norway, taken during the christmas holiday. Stitched together of 15 pictures. Post-processing: / Stitched some pictures together, obviously. Fixed the contrast with curves, added a lighter curve only on the lower part as the valley was pretty dark, and the mountain tops really light. Added two black and white layers set to hard light (140%), mainly on the sky and the mountain tops.
Another view from Paradise Bay. My first submission to RB in a while. I apologize for not replying/commenting on peoples work in the past few weeks. A lot of new stuff is happening in my life right now. Nothing bad I assure you. Just good things :) Anyways, thanks for looking!
Frozen inland lake in eastern Norway.
When the light is at its finest. The Peak Hour.
Another view from Paradise Bay. Spring harmonies.
Well, it’s not a final goodbye. When I shot this, a strong northern front was rolling over my head (the one you see in the photo) and discharging tiny specks of snow. But at least the ice is breaking and spring is in reach. Happy Easter (if you celebrate that kind of thing).
Public art outside the Gothenburg Opera House, Sweden.
The night spring arrived.
Norway, the most beautiful country in the world – or so I personally think. Endlessly inspiring, every view mesmerising, I love it. I have tried to emphasise the ever-present tranquility by focusing on this pile of stones, quite a common site in western norway incidentaly. / I hope you like it!

This is my beloved home. An old water powered stone mill. While running as a mill the building used to reach over the lawn, down to the little stream by the bridge where there also was a channel leading the water to the wheel. This old road was a main transport with wadeing point and the house history goes all the way back to 1520. Furthermore, it has been an inn. This music from John Barry is my favourite when I work. Please open in another window! I rent the place, love it and never going to leave it. Oslo, summer 2008 Stormtroopers in 25C+ temperatures have really tough life. But these guys had a blast running around Oslo. They were stopped literally by everyone, either wanting a photo or asking whats going on. I didn’t ask, just grabbed a photo while they still weren’t bored posing. Other from this series: /
