“Carried Away by the Moment” Photography & Artwork / by Holly Kempe © A lone man standing on the edge of a cliff watches the sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean at Port Campbell, Victoria. “One perfect moment / Can never be repeated / Only remembered.”
“A Touch of Paradise” Photography & Artwork / by Holly Kempe © Sunrise in tropical Mission Beach, far north Queensland, Australia. “Flamingos walk, and sway in peace / Seeing this, it makes my troubles cease / The sun is hiding, leaving a pink scar / That stretches right across the sky / Thats all weve seen so far / And all I do is look into your eyes / For that special touch of paradise / Just a touch, a touch of paradise / Just a special touch of paradise / You hold my hand, thats when we kiss / And it doesnt take long no, until I get the gist / Of this love that stretches out across the land / Where rainbows flash, as were walking in the sand / And all I do is look into your eyes / A touch of spring, and autumn sweet / Well the trees vibrate when our eyes meet / And I think of all the love that we have been making / You touch my hand and I walk off shaking / And all I do is look into your eyes.” / ~Ross Wilson and G Smith

My daughter, Grace, taking a break!! Ballet moves her… ...also my first attempt a selective coloring.
A fanciful depiction of the psyche of a Replicant, which has the form of a human, yet the soul of blasphemous creation, a Golem, a Frankenstein, a tormented being, anxious and deranged, knowing its time is short and its end inevitable. The spider patterning exudes the replicant’s un-empathic nature, the thing that separates them from humans. If you haven’t, check out Philip K. Dick’s Novel, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. It is brilliant. See also:

Sunrise on the ocean, is a beautiful look with the mist rising and the sky and sea taking on the colors of the sun. Get up before 5 and take a walk if you live near a beach, it’s so worth it. Hunting Island State Park, Beaufort SC Camera, Canon 5D / Digitally enhanced photography / © M. Campbell

I took a photo of an iris bloom that was wet and put it through a channel mixer and went black and white and then I did the selective color with the water drops in photoshop. I think this is the first time I was able to get as close as I was to this beautiful fellow. I was so pleased when I uploaded it onto the computer and saw the results. Believe me this has had selective colouring on the shot it is just that the owl is mainly white. The original shot was taken in The Cornish Birds of Prey Centre & Animal Park in Cornwall. I have been playing about with it again; a crop here to focus tight on his beautiful eyes and selective colouring there and this is the result which I love. I hope you like it and thank you for viewing. The selective colouring was made in Photoshop Elements 6 NIKON D60 DSLR / F-stop f/9 / Exposure time 1/500 sec / ISO speed 100 / Aperture priority / Focal length 190 mm on a 70 – 300 mm Nikon lens All the materials contained may not be reproduced, copied, edited, published, transmitted or uploaded in any way without my permission. Its an experiment…trying for selective colour in a crop of wild beauty / and after wrestling for hours with a pesky lasso i managed to briefly subdue it (a first!) and then fumbled the keyboard…arriving somehow at this after rubbing out some scruffy bits. Comments most welcome (will brace myself) and especially tips would be much appreciated! Thanks for looking ! Cheers ding / :))))) / PS Amazingly this was featured on the home page on 19/12/09 with some wonderful artists work.. /
Yes their back! The ladybirds from Mount Burr made an emergence yesterday with thousands massing in a number of spots within the forest. This group were huddled together in their hundreds on a power pole just above ground level. As with all things in life there is always one or two who stand out in a crowd. Canon 400D 18-55 taken at night with aid of a speedlight. Processed in Photo shop CS3.
Captured this image aboard the Cruiseship “Valor”, during a 7 day Western Caribbean Cruise. Some of the ships’ interior was quite interesting and warranted a few photo sessions. This is a 15 second exposure of some empty barstools, shot from the floor with camera angled upwards. Image made with tripod mounted Nikon D300 and Nikkor 18-70mm lens. The image itself has been run through ReDynaMix for an HDR “feel”, then converted to B&W, then with several layers gradually punched through the layers to achieve the selective coloring on the barstools from the original color HDR image. / Please view in Large to see all of the detail ….
