  Be open minded about your camera gear You can make a tripod for only a few dollars, tracing paper makes a great diffuser and a trip to a hardware store will give you very bright lights. Yes, there are downsides, and for the technically perfect photographer, these suggestions will be a very funny joke. The point here is keep and open mind and try new things before forking out $100 for a piece of shiny material that resembles a $5 dash board cover. Unless you use a biscuit tin to take photos, eventually you will want to buy a new camera. Shop around, get advice, try out a friend’s and when you walk into the shop, don’t spend hundreds of dollars on accessories that you wont’ use. It doesn’t hurt to haggle a bit either. When the salesman tries to close the deal, my typical response is “what else are you throwing in?” Studio Hire So the first question you ask yourself is “Do I know anyone who already has a studio set up?” If the answer is yes. Skip the rest of this section, suck up your pride and ask them if you can visit and have a play. The rest of you, ask yourself what you are paying for. Is it the chance to get a professionally lit shot? Maybe you could try a lighting course that will not only give you many opportunities to work with professional lights, but will teach you the theory and science of lighting. Often these courses are much cheaper than a similar amount of time in a rented studio. Do you want to try shooting in more controlled conditions? Try clearing out a room of your house and setting up a few scenes. The results may not be brilliant but it will give you a sense of how much time you can spend setting a shot up before you get to click the button. If you are certain that a proper studio is for you, consider hiring it out through a camera club for a discounted rate, or hiring it out with a couple of other photographers to minimise your expense. Models and TFP Models and photographers have one thing in common – they both need a portfolio of photos to proceed in their career. This is why Time For Photo shoots have become so popular. But before you jump up and down about using a free model take a second think about what is fair and ethical. At the end of the day, both you and the model should be happy with your arrangement. If someone feels short changed, you should consider modifying your approach. This is my rule of thumb. If a model approaches me to take shots for her portfolio, and I am working to her brief, she should pay me. If we have put our heads together to come up with a project and proceed on equal footing where we both use the images, then neither should pay. And if I conceive and art direct the shoot and have priority over the image rights, I should pay the model. Basically whoever comes out on top should be paying the person who is doing them a favor. Then there are test shoots, these are almost always done on a time for photos basis. These shoots are a bit like ‘warm up’ shoots for the model and photographer to see if they want to work together properly. They are also a chance to test new ideas or equipment. Often the images taken in test shoots are less than great, and if they do turn out, they are most commonly shared equally between all parties. If you are requesting a model release form because you intend to profit from the images, in my opinion, the model should be paid or you should have an arrangement to split any profits. My plan of attack is to put out a call for models. Then I will do a test shoot with the model who has contacted me and we either have equal rights to the shots or split them down the middle. If the test shoot goes well we may arrange to work together again. This might mean doing an even split of “her ideas” and “my ideas” for no payment, or it may be paid work if I am contracted to produce shots for a commercial job.   MWM: This long letter to humanity appeared with no apparent return address. It is being posted here and there. This is another Internet piece for which I cannot assess the validity. All I CAN say is that it sounds like a good idea, is coherent, and is written skillfully at a level of intelligence and maturity with I would associate with a serious, non-technical, matter-of-fact level of discourse. It is not ethnically loaded and the writer has a very good understanding of language and human psychology, though there are a few moments where the grammar is different than we are accustomed to and there are a couple of language errors. Most importantly, it makes no reference to impossible constructs, faux-tech, nor any type of religious or New Age buzzwords. This is as clean a straight-shooting letter, as you will find. Accordingly I am sending it to you to “vet” it and see what our Phoenix Five brain trust surmises about it. I am also sending it to you because it might be real. The main assertion in the letter is that human civilization is now in an uncontrollable free-fall implosion which cannot be “fixed” from within existing social systems. The implosion is causing, will cause a major rupture in all human orders. There is a dark road down toward the use of technology to rapidly enslave human populations in a badly degraded and unhealthy environment. Those who are defining this path, many of them unintentionally, have the greater advantage of power over resources and may gain the upper hand during the coming rupture. There are many who would take a liberating path, they could gain the upper hand if they UNDERSTAND THE CHOICE and can lose their fear, sense of isolation, and ignorance about the true state of affairs. The main proposition in the letter is that the mass appearance of ET in the skies now could help humanity clear away the veils of illusion and deceits, help settle many existential issues and dilemmas, and provide an “attractor” to help pull positive mentalities out of the social death-vortex and enable them to refocus the next stage in evolution. The main question in the letter is whether you want ET to thus show UP. ET suggests that direct contact and some cultural assistance would provide the means to overcome the major blocks in human social and cultural evolution. ET argues that the mental/emotional ground needs to be prepared for such contact. Consent and expectation for such contact needs to be created around the world, less humans react in mass with fear and become manipulated by reactive power elites. ET suggests that a focused telepathic answer from each reader will be sufficient to assist ET is reaching a conclusion about what it should or should not do. Even as the internet is achieving universal penetration during this time, ET requests that this letter, its first mass communication, be universally translated and transmitted throughout the world. ET also suggests that this should be done by people to people, forget the mass media. Here is the letter. Here it is unaltered by me. Decide for yourself. Neither your scientists nor your religious representatives speak unanimously about the unexplained celestial events that mankind has witnessed for thousands of years. Many of those who study our appearances count the lights in the night without lighting the way. Often they think in terms of objects when it is all about conscious beings. Who are you ? You are the offspring of many traditions that throughout time have been mutually enriched by each others´ contributions. The same applies to the races at the surface of the Earth. Your goal is to unite in the respect of these roots to accomplish a common project. The appearance of your cultures seems to keep you separated because you substitute it to your deeper being. Shape is now more important than the essence of your subtle nature. For the powers in place, this prevalence of the shape constitutes the ramparts against any form of jeopardy. You are being called on to overcome shape while still respecting it for its richness and beauty. Understanding the conscience of shape makes us love men in their diversity. Peace does not mean not making war, it consists in becoming what you are in reality: a same Fraternity. To understand this, the number of solutions within your reach are decreasing. One of them consists in contact with another race that would reflect the image of what you are in reality. What is your situation ? Except for rare occasions, our interventions always had very little incidence on your capacity to make collective and individual decisions about your own future. This is motivated by our knowledge of your deep psychological mechanisms. This can change as long as you keep this creative power in you, even if it cohabits with the dark intentions of your potential lords. This is the reason why we remain invisible. This individual power is doomed to vanish should a collective reaction of great magnitude not happen. The period to come is that of rupture, whichever it may be. But should you wait for the last moment to find solutions? Should you anticipate or undergo pain ? Your history has never ceased to be marked by encounters between peoples who had to discover one another in conditions that were often conflictual. Conquests almost always happened to the detriment of others. Earth has now become a village where everyone knows everyone else but still conflicts persist and threats of all kinds get worse in duration and intensity. Although a Human being as an individual, yet having many potential capacities, cannot exercise them with dignity. This is the case for the biggest majority of you for reasons that are essentially geopolitical. There are several billion of you. The education of your children and your living conditions, as well as the conditions of numerous animals and much plant life are nevertheless under the thumb of a small number of your political, financial, military and religious representatives. Your thoughts and beliefs are modelled after partisan interests to turn you into slaves while at the same time giving you the feeling that you are in total control of your destiny, which in essence is the reality. But there is a long way between a wish and a fact when the true rules of the game at hand are unknown. This time, you are not the conqueror. Biasing information is a millenary strategy for human beings. Inducting thoughts, emotions or organisms that do not belong to you via ad hoc technologies is an even older a strategy. Wonderful opportunities of progress stand close to big subdual and destruction threats. These dangers and opportunities exist now. However, you can only perceive what is being shown to you. The end of natural resources is programmed whereas no long-term collective project has been launched. Ecosystem exhaustion mechanisms have exceeded irreversible limits. The scarcity of resources and their unfair distribution – resources which entry price will rise day after day – will bring about fratricide fights at a large scale, but also at the very heart of your cities and countrysides. Hatred grows bigger but so does love. That is what keeps you confident in your ability to find solutions. But the critical mass is insufficient and a sabotage work is cleverly being carried out. Human behaviours, formed from past habits and trainings, have such an inertia that this perspective leads you to a dead end. You entrust these problems to representatives, whose conscience of common well-being slowly fades away in front of corporatist interests, with those difficulties. They are always debating on the form but rarely on the content. Just at the moment of action, delays will accumulate to the point when you have to submit rather than choose. This is the reason why, more than ever in your history, your decisions of today will directly and significantly impact your survival of tomorrow. What event could radically modify this inertia that is typical of any civilisation? Where will a collective and unifying awareness come from, that will stop this blind rushing ahead? Tribes, populations and human nations have always encountered and interacted with one another. Faced with the threats weighing upon the human family, it is perhaps time that a greater interaction occurred. A great roller wave is on the verge of emerging. It mixes very positive but also very negative aspects. Who are the “third party”? There are two ways to establish a cosmic contact with another civilisation: via its standing representatives or directly with individuals without distinction. The first way entails fights of interests, the second way brings awareness. The first way was chosen by a group of races motivated by keeping mankind in slavery, thereby controlling Earth resources, the gene pool and human emotional energy. The second way was chosen by a group of races allied with the cause of the Spirit of service. We have, at our end, subscribed to this disinterested cause and introduced ourselves a few years ago to representatives of the human power who refused our outstretched hand on the pretext of incompatible interests with their strategic vision. That is why today individuals are to make this choice by themselves without any representative interfering. What we proposed in the past to those whom we believed were in a capacity to contribute to your happiness, we propose it now to … you! Most of you ignore that non-human creatures took part in the exercise of those centralising powers without them being neither suspected nor accessible to your senses. This is so true that they have almost very subtly taken control. They do not necessarily stand on your material plan, and that is precisely what could make them extremely efficient and frightening in the near future. However, be aware that a large number of your representatives are fighting this danger ! Be aware that not all abductions are made against you. It is difficult to recognize the truth ! How could you under such conditions exercise your free will when it is so much manipulated ? What are you really free of ? Peace and reunification of your peoples would be a first step toward the harmony with civilisations other than yours. That is precisely what those who manipulate you behind the scenes want to avoid at all cost because, by dividing, they reign! They also reign over those who govern you. Their strength comes from their capacity to distillate mistrust and fear into you. This considerably harms your very cosmic nature. This message would be of no interest if these manipulators´ tutorate did not reach its peak and if their misleading and murderous plans did not materialise in a few years from now. Their deadlines are close and mankind will undergo unprecedented torments for the next ten cycles. To defend yourselves against this aggression that bears no face, you need at least to have enough information that leads to the solution. As is also the case with humans, resistance exists amongst those dominant races. Here again, appearance will not be enough to tell the dominator from the ally. At your current state of psychism, it is extremely difficult for you to distinguish between them. In addition to your intuition, training will be necessary when the time has come. Being aware of the priceless value of free will, we are inviting you to an alternative. What can we offer ? We can offer you a more holistic vision of the universe and of life, constructive interactions, the experience of fair and fraternal relationships, liberating technical knowledge, eradiction of suffering, controlled exercise of individual powers, the access to new forms of energy and, finally, a better comprehension of consciousness. We cannot help you overcome your individual and collective fears, or bring you laws that you would not have chosen, work on your own selves, individual and collective effort to build the world you desire, the spirit of quest to new skies. What would we receive? Should you decide that such a contact takes place, we would rejoice over the safeguarding of fraternal equilibrium in this region of the universe, fruitful diplomatic exchanges, and the intense Joy of knowing that you are united to accomplish what you are capable of. The feeling of Joy is strongly sought in the universe for its energy is divine. What is the question we ask you “DO YOU WISH THAT WE SHOW UP?” How to can you answer this question? The truth of soul can be read by telepathy. You only need to clearly ask yourself this question and give your answer as clearly, on your own or in a group, as you wish. Being in the heart of a city or in the middle of a desert does not impact the efficiency of your answer, YES or NO, IMMEDIATELY AFTER ASKING THE QUESTION! Just do it as if you were speaking to yourself but thinking about the message. This is a universal question and these mere few words, put in their context, have a powerful meaning. You should not let hesitation in the way. This is why you should calmly think about it, in all conscience. In order to perfectly associate your answer with the question, it is recommended that you answer right after another reading of this message. Do not rush to answer. Breathe and let all the power of your own free will penetrate you. Be proud of what you are! The problems that you may have weaken you. Forget about them for a few minutes to be yourselves. Spreading this message will then be the hand-hold to strengthen, we will be the light-years long lever, you will be the craftsmen to … raise the Earth as a consequence of our appearance. What would be the consequences of a positive decision ? For us, the immediate consequence of a collective favourable decision would be the materialisation of many ships, in your sky and on Earth. For you, the direct effect would be the rapid abandoning of many certitudes and beliefs. A simple conclusive visual contact would have huge repercussions on your future. Much knowledge would be modified forever. The organisation of your societies would be deeply upheaved for ever, in all fields of activity. Power would become individual because you would see for yourself that we are living. Concretely, you would change the scale of your values! The most important thing for us is that humankind would form a single family in front of this “unknown” we would represent ! We are sad to see men, women and children suffering to such a degree in their flesh and in their hearts when they bear such an inner light. This light can be your future. Our relationships could be progressive. Several stages of several years or decades would occur: demonstrative appearance of our ships, physical appearance beside human beings, collaboration in your technical and spiritual evolution, discovery of parts of the galaxy. Every time, new choices would be offered to you. You would then decide by yourself to cross new stages if you think it necessary to your external and inner well-being. No interference would be decided upon unilaterally. We would leave as soon as you would collectively wish that we do. Depending upon the speed to spread the message across the world, several weeks, or even several months will be necessary before our “great appearance”, if such is the decision made by the majority of those who will have used their capacity to choose, and if this message receives the necessary support. The main difference between your daily prayers to entities of a strictly spiritual nature and your current decision is extremely simple : we are technically equipped to materialise! Why such a historical dilemma ? We know that “foreigners” are considered as enemies as long as they embody the “unknown”. In a first stage, the emotion that our appearance will generate will strengthen your relationships on a worldwide scale. How could you know whether our arrival is the consequence of your collective choice ? For the simple reason that we would have otherwise been already there for a long time at your level of existence! If we are not there yet, it is because you have not made such a decision explicitly. Some among you might think that we would make you believe in a deliberate choice of yours so as to legitimate our arrival, though this would not be true. What interest would we have to openly offer you what you haven´t got any access to yet, for the benefit of the greatest number of you? How could you be certain that this is not yet another subtle manoeuvre of the “third party” to better enslave you ? Because one always more efficiently fights something that is identified than the contrary. Isn´t the terrorism that corrodes you a blatant example ? Whatever, you are the sole judge in your own heart and soul ! Whatever your choice, it would be respectable and respected! In the absence of human representatives who could potentially seduce into error you ignore everything about us as well as from about those who manipulate you without your consent. In your situation, the precationary principle that consists in not trying to discover us does no longer prevail. You are already in the Pandora´s box that the “third party” has created around you. Whatever your decision may be you will have to get out of it. In the face of such a dilemma, one ignorance against another, you need to ask your intuition. Do you want to see us with your own eyes, or simply believe what your thinkers say ? That is the real question! After thousands of years, one day, this choice was going to be inevitable: choosing between two unknowns. Why spread such a message among yourselves? Translate and spread this message widely. This action will affect your future in an irreversible and historical way at the scale of milleniums, otherwise, it will postpone a new opportunity to choose to several years later, at least one generation, if it can survive. Not choosing stands for undergoing other people´s choice. Not informing others stands for running the risk of obtaining a result that is contrary to one´s expectations. Remaining indifferent means giving up one´s free will. It is all about your future. It is all about your evolution. It is possible that this invitation does not receive your collective assent and that, because of a lack of information, it will be disregarded. Nevertheless no individual desire goes unheeded in the universe. Imagine our arrival tomorrow. Thousands of ships. A unique cultural shock in today´s mankind´s history. It will then be too late to regret about not making a choice and spreading the message because this discovery will be irreversible. We do insist that you do not rush into it, but do think about it ! And decide ! The big medias will not be necessarily interested in spreading this message. It is therefore your task, as an anonymous yet an extraordinary thinking and loving being, to transmit it. Each August, the whale watching season begins in earnest on Australia’s picturesque eastern seaboard. As a result of my journey to Hervey Bay during August 2006, I had the pleasure to record the magnificent humpbacks as they frolicked in the calm waters of Hervey Bay. I’d like to extend an invitation to you to view my whale watching slideshow. The slideshow is a culmination of work which was undertaken by me with the kind assistance of the staff and crew of Spirit of Hervey Bay. As most are aware, the humpbacks are still being slaughtered for what can be loosely claimed as research reasons. Bearing that in mind, please give your support the best way you can to help “Save the whales”. The link to my slideshow will take you to the Photodex web site. The slideshow has been produced using the ProShow Gold software package. Upon reaching the site, you may be required to download a tiny bit of software to view the show. Many photographers may already have this software installed on their system.   I just saw a report on 60 Minutes about how our turtles in the pacific are being killed by the plastic we humans dump! / 2 of every 5 turtles are dying of consuming plastic which they think is fish or food of some kind. There are millions of bird chicks being killed by their parents mistakingly feeding them plastic instead of fish, and zillions of fish that are toxic because of consuming plastic also! The report didn’t say exactly where the rubbish is coming from but personally I blame the manufacturing of the crap in the first place! / I remember when I was a child you bought your groceries in brown paper bags and carried them home in boxes. You could buy a certain amount that was taken from the big storage bins in the shop and shoveled into a paper bag for you to take home. these bags were then recycled by Mum to use as storage bags and cake tin liners or for lunch orders from the tuck shop at school and if nothing else given to us kids to make masks and puppets etc out of and finally fire lighting material. It stands to reason that the bulk of it must be coming from the Asian islands where they have nowhere to dump their rubbish BUT the sea. But they are not the only ones to blame – there are barges that “Loose Loads” as they transport rubbish out and there are always ships crossing the oceans who dump their trash overboard – not to mention the stuff that flies from tips on the wind to end up in the ocean! Here in Australia there is an ordinary bloke, Ian Kiernan who began a campaign to clean up Sydney Harbour which exploded into Clean Up Australia Day which is now becoming a world wide campaign and he is working to commission fishing boats to fish for plastic instead of fish for recycling and then once the plastic [& rubbish] is out of the oceans he suggests there be an embargo on fishing in certain places to allow the marine life to recover. In Scouts we are trained and we train our youth to leave an environment better than when we arrived. We set the precedents of taking our rubbish out with us and in Australia we created the “Emu Bob” which every camper/rubbish user should undergo before leaving an area – the object is to collect all rubbish [whether we brought it or not] and make sure we left nothing behind that wasn’t natural to the environment …. and these principals are taken on into our every day life also. / I don’t mind going through my children’s pockets and finding rubbish – especially wrappers of things that I know I didn’t give them – for I know it is because they do Emu Bobbing all the time and collect what others drop. I have even seen my son run up to people who drop rubbish and tap them on the shoulder “Sorry you dropped this” is what he’ll tell them and hand it back to them. It’s good to see !! Especially when the litter bug goes red-faced for being caught out for being lazy. / Even better when it’s a smoker! He’s told me when he thinks of how smokers grind their buts out on the ground and walk off he just wants to shove the butts down their throats! I have seen him run up to a car at the lights, tap their the window and shove handfuls of the butts they just tipped out of their ash trays onto the road back through the window at them! Everything left on the road usually ends up in our bay for our fish to eat! Fancy a nice piece of freshly caught flathead, snapper, bream, fed up on cigarette buts??? We must save our marine life – for without them we are all sunk! HUMANS MUST BECOME RESPONSIBLE FOR OUR EXISTENCE!!! – OR WE WILL BECOME EXTINCT TOO!!!

Your Media Release of 20th December relies on promotional material from the Port of Melbourne Corporation rather than facts. I believed you would protect the environment, not be swayed by “developer’s marketing”. You say you will safeguard the “Western Port Ramsar site”. You have confused Western Port and Port Phillip Bay. Western Port is a separate, unique and different ecosystem, in a completely different location. Here are some facts about Port Phillip Bay and channel deepening: - Over 100 species of sponges at The Heads occur nowhere else on earth and could be lost FOREVER if this project proceeds. Unique and beautiful sponges, corals and seagrasses would be ripped out and remaining colonies smothered. Benthic organisms responsible for maintaining the Nitrogen balance in the Bay would be smothered, increasing risks of toxic algal blooms. - Penguins, dolphins, seals, sharks, whales and thousands of marine plant and animal species interactively rely on Port Phillip Bay for habitat. This delicate balance IS under threat. - Wetlands and coastline are at greater risk from the interaction of global warming and project related sea-level rise. You have not adequately considered this. - You claim 80,000 jobs rely on the Port. This was proven wrong during the 2004 EES Panel Hearing. The 2007 SEES claims 13,748 jobs rely on the Port. There is NO evidence that ANY of these jobs are threatened. PriceWaterhouse Coopers 2007 study of the Port predicts that trade will quadruple by 2035 regardless of whether channel deepening occurs. There should be plenty MORE jobs, not less! - Industrial contaminants and toxicants trapped in Yarra silt would be released into the water and then dumped in the Bay. Heavy metals such as Cadmium, Mercury, Zinc, Lead and Arsenic and Ammonia would re-enter the food chain. PoMC did not provide adequate data on toxicant risk. Risks to HUMAN HEALTH from swimming and consuming fish from the Bay have been underestimated and you have not considered this. - Many thousands of jobs in tourism, fishing and diving and their support industries ARE threatened by this sustained assault on the health of the Bay. Recreational fishing in Port Phillip Bay contributes approximately $1 billion per annum to our economy. That’s over 10 times what the PoMC hopes channel deepening would contribute to the economy annually! PoMC admits that fish stocks will be affected for a number of years so this WILL impact on jobs in recreational and commercial fishing, diving and eco-tourism sectors. Bay related tourism provides around $1 billion benefits per annum in a growing and sustainable industry – and that’s just the Mornington Peninsula! You have just approved an outright assault on all sustainable recreational and commercial diving, fishing and Bay wide tourism. - PoMC data on future deep draught ship arrivals needs proper analysis. In approving this complex and risky project you have relied on the PoMC marketing material instead of independent research into future trends in shipping. - PoMC says channel deepening would provide approximately $1.9 billion benefits by 2035. That’s its BEST estimate and that’s ONLY around $70 million per annum! That’s similar to the annual value of JUST the Dive Industry in Port Phillip Bay. Benefits that channel deepening MIGHT provide over 27 years are substantially less than our current sustainable Bay related industries ALREADY DO provide every year! Your decision to approve channel deepening reflects very badly on the environmental and economic credentials of the Rudd government. You have committed our Bay to a huge assault from which it may never recover. I hope Blue Wedges is successful in the Federal Court and stops this project but it is outrageous that they have to do what you should be doing. Port Phillip Bay is as important to Australia’s natural history as Lake Pedder. Please do not commit our wondrous, unique and living Port Philip Bay to the same fate as Lake Pedder – lost for ever. As a distinguished environmental campaigner and now Minister elected to protect Australia’s unique environment, how could you have that on your conscience?   The Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve (SIWR) is a wetland conservation property and a tribute to Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin purchased by Terry Irwin and the federal government after Steves death. The 135,000 ha property, in Queensland’s Cape York Peninsula, is home to a set of three important spring fed wetlands which provide a critical water source to threatened habitat, provide permanent flow of water to the Wenlock River, and is home to rare and vulnerable plants and wildlife. However, Cape Alumina Pty Ltd has lodged mining lease applications which include approximately 12,300 ha of the Reserve. Cape Alumina company documents indicate an intention to mine 50 plus million tons over a 10 year period commencing 2010. The greater part of this mine is on SIWR The proposed area for mining on the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve contains the head waters of irreplaceable waterways and unique biodiversity which will not recover after mining operations are finished. Terri Irwin has launched a court battle against Cape Alumina to stop this outraguous claim on minerals in a reserve which houses many threatened animals and plants, but a huge tribute to a great herper and conservationist.   And good riddance for another summer! We turned the clock back to “Real time” earlier this morning here in WA, After the second year of the controversial daylight savings trial (Which we still have one more summer before we vote in a referendum). Some like daylight savings, The majority don’t! (Judging from all the responses to various surveys polls over the last two years). I for one am not a fan of daylight savings, And I will be glad to see it abolished after next year! But at least for now, We can go back to normal time till later this year.

  Well most of you would know I received some bad news about Jordy last week. If you haven’t read about it, you can here My Vet also suggested she could give me a referral the the Murdoch University Cancer Care unit for Animals in Perth, if I wanted to see what sort or treatment etc was available for Jordy if I wanted to go down that road as well. I couldn’t not use the referral and have Jordy get worse and put to sleep soon … and always wonder if maybe I could have done more to help. I am sooooooo glad I took him to Perth today!!! I left him there for an hour while the surgeons looked over him and they gave me three options. Leave him be to let the cancer spread to his lungs shortly and just give him a good quality of life until such time that the pain was too much and have him put to sleep (this option was the only hope the Vet had given me!!!) Scrape his tumor and do a course of Chemo to shrink and slow the growth and spread … and monitor him with subsequent checkups and then give him a few extra months before having to make the decision. Remove his eye and the surrounding tissue, check the nasal cavity and use skin from his head to patch the eye and he would almost certainly be free of the cancer (if it hasn’t spread yet) and could live another 2 years or more until he died of old age. So I am opting for number three of the above … but this is where I want to ask you all a big favour. The operation is going to cost me $3000, money I don’t have right now. The operation also needs to be done as soon as possible!!! The longer it is left, the more likely the cancer has spread and the chances of this operation working become less. What I want to ask you all (beg even) is that you support me in giving Jordy the chance to live and die in a few years of natural causes, rather than in about three months if I do nothing … buy buying my work here at Red Bubble. For every cent of Profit I make from today I will be putting in a Fund especially for Jordy’s Operation and I will start a new Journal Entry called The Jordy Fund where on request, I will paste the product bought, who bought it and how much profit (with a running total) has gone towards Jordy’s Operation. Normally I would save and plan when I needed money for something, but this is very important for me to do ASAP and so your help would be greatly appreciated. And it doesn’t matter if you just buy a card … or a Full sized Framed Print. It ALL means something to me. I appreciate your help so much and so does Jordy. Don’t forget too that I have sale Items here which are 50% off my markup if you want to buy cards etc more inexpensively

Secondly I would like to thank the mystery buyers ( 2) of the Support Oink Tees : / I really didn’t think they would start moving so quickly , but very grateful they did , I hope to see photos in the buyers booth !   if all the women in russia switched their hairdriers from ‘hot’ to ‘cool’ setting, it would save enough electricity to light up minsk for a week. however, if minsk was lit up, everyone would see how bad it was and want to leave, putting enormous strain on the internal transport system- highly inefficinet, diesel polluting trains in the main. this in turn would spew out enough obnoxious greenhouse gases to kill about a third of the population of azerbaijan. the depletion in azerbaijani stock would give a chance for the highly endangered caspian sturgeon fish stocks to replete themselves. the repletion of sturgeon stocks would in turn lower the market price of black caviar to a more reasonable level, as it’s gone up 30% in the last three months and is currently about $400 u.s. for half a kilo, which quite frankly, is ruining my environment.. a few years ago lukashenko the mad moustache, bereft of funds to fund his funding, came up with a great new tax regime.- if you flew out of minsk airport, you had to declare ANY belongings, personal or otherwise (including the rings on your fingers) which together rung up to the tune of more than a thousand bucks.. so, if you flew in with a poncy camera worth two grand,, you had to pay 500 bucks just to leave. in an infamous incident a b-listed italian popstar unfortunately wrote the value of her stage costume on the customs form at 20,000 dollars. and paid the bill. just to leave. and nobody could claim to be ignorant. there were widely broadcast t.v. debates and newspaper articles for weeks before the new rules were brought in. luckily for belarussian nationals, the compasionate, thoughtful folk at customs seemed to predict the inconvenience this might pose to the mere holiday maker, and installed a secure ‘left luggage’ facility- the fee, 10% of the belonging’s total value. imagine what’s going on in north korea.

  Several of you have asked me how Tilly, my cat, saved my life. I came home from a night shift and Tilly and I breakfasted then I went to bed. Two hours later she was sitting on my upper chest poking me in the eye. I awoke grumbling only to find the flat stinking of gas. I must have nudged a cooker gas tap on during breakfast. Luckily it was summer and had it been winter one electrical spark from the heating boiler would have had me and probably the peeps in the other flats sitting on a cloud learning to play the harp.   At what seems like the last possible moment, a friend from work calls me to arrange a photo shoot of her and her dog before the day is over. Willingly I told her I’d do it, and to meet me down on the beach behind my house. What I didn’t realize, (mostly because I had been sleeping all day!) is that the sun was already low on the horizon, and it might be too late by the time she arrived! She arrived just in time to get a few good shots, but I slowly began fighting the lack of lighting on a black dog! The sky was still quite bright, but the sunlight wasn’t very strong for subject lighting. I feared they wouldn’t come out. Drive home, Opened up Lightroom. Ran some curves, ran the recovery feature, and amazing! They came out almost perfect!!! Aside from a little grain from the ISO, there was no clipping at all! Everyday this program never ceases to amaze me! I don’t even see the need for regular Photoshop anymore! Lightroom saves the day!

  - Please find time to read and email before Friday the 18th January – / / WATER YES – DESAL NO ! / As many may know the Victorian state Gov. is endevouring to build the largest desal plant in the southern hemisphere on the beautiful Bass coast…one that many of you may know… A coast that in the last 2months alone has had humpback,killer and southern right whales sighted, penguins,seals, fish feed off these waters and estauries etc etc – foul the foodchain and it can’t be good…. / / This proposed development will provide 150million litres of water to Melbourne/Geelong each year BUT… / / - dump 200million litres of salty brine offshore at the mouth of the beautiful Powlett river and associated wetlands annually. / / - create 30,000tonnes of iron rich landfill annually. / / - burn electricity/CO2 equivalent to an extra ~280,000cars on the road annually… / / / If you live in the Melbourne/Geelong area your water will be owned by an international company negotiating their own rates for which the gov. will buy it from them. / Every home in Melb has 6-8times the water it uses fall on it’s own roof (clean & free forever) – it’s estimated if 60% of these homes had tanks there would be no water issue in Melbourne what so ever… / Concerned about drinking recycled water ? Countless cities in europe run on recycled water… a couple of the smaller upper reserviors of Melb already have recycled water from treatment plants feeding back into their catchments… / What about stormwater manangement/reticulation ? redefining how industries use/waste drinking water… / / There are numerous options that many believe are more cost effective and sustainiable. / / So finally the gov. is agreeing to do an Enviromental Impact Statement (EIS)..of sorts…one over a very very short period…ridiculous, as it should be much longer to evaluate the effects of things such as seasonal currents and migrations of birds,fish,whales etc…. / / more info and updates check/bookmark / http://www.yourwateryoursay.org / / / Please take a moment to read about the issues involved and just send an email to the gov. before friday the 18th… / follow the info below.
